This is easily my favorite Bangles cut. They've always had great vocals, but with this song, the harmonies just SOAR!!! They have have such command. If haven't done it yet, treat yourself by listening to this cut with a good set of headphones.. The harmonies so full and textured, it's like you're IN the music. It'll give you goosebumps

the video producer obviously has an interesting sense of humor. of course, the song is about breaking up and forgetting about bad relationships. barbie doesn't have much to worry about this as since she and ken broke up, she is alive and well and living somewhere along the beach in so cal and occasionally shows her face in various clubs in LA with a new boy toy on her arm. :)
I always thought this song was about more than romantic relationships... I was amused by your video. I forgot how plastic Barbies look no matter what you do with them. Their arms are bent for embracing Ken, holding a serving tray, or in this case, limited fighting postures. I'm certain that I probably played Barbies when Different Light came out. I love this a lot and you can hear Vicki voice the most on this song as she has the most powerfall voice out of all the girls .

This album was chock full of hits. This song was one of my favorite hits off it. I was always hoping that it would have been released as a single.
