@Kittylover499 How so? Adult Opossums eat pests, don't cause much damage (unless you somehow get one in your house), and are a lot cleaner and disease-resistant than most wild animals, including stray dogs. All in all, they're very useful scavangers.

We just saved a baby opossum that we found in our garden.... and we're taking care of him. I would like to know something. Here's the thing: the "Mommy" opossum always passes by a window at my house at night around the same hour every time. If we put the opossum in a box next to this place, would the "Mommy opossum" realize the baby is there and would she take him back with her??
@Alimac1112 It might not be the mommy opossum. If it isn't, it might kill the baby. Opossums will only take their babies back if baby crawls a few feet away. Most other wild mammals will take their babies back even days later but unfortunately not opossums. Thanks.

@MegaPoptartqueen Mom is dead. She was hit and killed by a car. Only two babies survived the impact. This is one of them. l raised this baby until it was able to go back to the wild.

A opossum was living in my attic with her brood when one of the little fuckers dropped down the vent, me being all nice & shit thought that if I Left alone it would find it's way back up the vent, not so he dropped down the vent instead & died, wow it smelled for a while thank god it was summer, I didn't have to turn on the heat, I ran the AC none stop to clear the smell, it was small so it didn't take long to decompose so much for being nice, I should have place him in the attic instead.

I commend you for your work...... These marsupials are misunderstood. I saw one in my backyard a few nights ago it was bigger than a cat. It was the closest I had ever been to one. They eat roadkill, and a sad part is that frequently, they end up becoming it... I love this video. Ignore the stupid people... that's the best we can do.

@yohatube shame ppl think they should shoot them like theyr dangerous! we lived in florida&when we first moved in we had a major bug problem! im talking little & BIG flying roaches all outside around the house&sometimes theyd get IN the house!! i HATE ROACHES &ironically i HATE chemical pesticides! then this possum shows up&sets up house under our deck&in about a month NO MORE BUGS! it was GREAT!! so now whenever i see one in the yard i put out cat food hoping it'll stick 'round 4 DESSERT! lol

@MegaPoptartqueen Mom is dead. She was hit and killed by a car. Only two babies survived the impact. This is one of them. l raised this baby until it was able to go back to the wild.

A opossum was living in my attic with her brood when one of the little fuckers dropped down the vent, me being all nice & shit thought that if I Left alone it would find it's way back up the vent, not so he dropped down the vent instead & died, wow it smelled for a while thank god it was summer, I didn't have to turn on the heat, I ran the AC none stop to clear the smell, it was small so it didn't take long to decompose so much for being nice, I should have place him in the attic instead.

@Gurgleschlortz People that kill animals for fun are sick. Most kids/teens that do will be our future murderers. What did a possum do to you? I'm not a possum person at all, but I do not mind them. They never do anything wrong. Maybe if you had a garden you would want them out, but there is still a slim chance a possum could do anything to a garden. So, just think. You wouldn't do that to a cat or dog, so what's the difference? Just because killing a possum is legal? Sickens me.

I do not condone needless killing, but that doesn't change the fact that humans are the top of the food chain. You find errors in the smallest thing, I'm really trying to be polite here. And although I would prefer to trap and relocate wild skunks, raccoons, opposums, etc that get onto my property (the further away the better), I also am not going to lose any sleep if I have to shoot (or drown, in the case of skunks, so they don't spray) them.
