  • @pinkeraserpet12 I'll consider you're opinion when you learn grammar.

  • @nljdj because he just does it the same way everytime... he said he did the obey andre the giant thing because he wanted to see how people reacted to this repetitious image they see EVERYWHERE.

  • i love his passion... but i think his art lacks creativity ... he just scans images and photoshop's them.... his style is too strict

  • @fretkills If his work lacks creativity, why is his style of works so distinct?

  • this guy is a fuckin sheep!

  • OBey Shepard Fairey

  • Shepard Fairey is a fucking artist. the only reason you could say otherwise is if your jelous.

  • He jus rips ppls images off.... How can ppl like him... R u really that dull?

  • @pinkeraserpet12 So did Andy Warhol

  • When did this air??

  • hes such a tool

  • Shepard Fairey OBEY IS REAL ART ANYONE CALLING SHEPARD FAIREY DOING VANDALISM IS INSANE

  • I don't think it's plagiarism since most of the images he does use are under the public domain. (Most, not all. I know he's copied from non-domain artists.) I don't really see it as copying because even if it's the same image, colors are different, therefore it's really not the EXACT same. (Don't hate me, I don't appreciate that he doesn't credit, and I'm not saying it's right. I was just brought up on the more accepting side of the art world.)

  • shepard fairey is a plagiarist,

I was at his exhibition in Boston last year and his works

are copied from photos taken by others whom he doesn't site or give credit to.

And the paintings themselves are tenth rate at best.

  • @beradification I know we're all entitled to our opinions but open your head a little. Try actually going through the process of creating a stencil sometime and maybe you'll have a bit more appreciation for what he does.

Without a doubt the guy has an amazing sense for composition and texture. I'm sorry, but you can't discredit his work. You may not appreciate it for what it is, but is most certainly high quality, sophisticated work.

  • good interview. plus the fact that he has the same watch as me. VESTAL DESTROYER!!!!

  • good interview content.. pity you couldnt have had a better quality camera. find it funny how he has his studio in his garage.. :) same as alot of people

    OBEY!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • your just a jealous bastard

  • too true.

  • hes not banksy but i guess for the u.s. hes the best for now im waiting for the next warhol

  • He is the next warhol.

  • This guy is awesome.

  • Good Artist but i dont agree with him about anything

  • this guy is a savage

  • he is an artist cause of the big impact that he has worldwide butthead

  • ur shirts arn't cheap

  • SO TRUE!

  • @nerdboy123456

there designer shirts. he put in the work, illegally n legally to get his name out there. props for any guerilla artists n graff artists who make it after putting in years of racking up global damage. most dont make it cause they aren't active or go out n bomb to much

  • @nerdboy123456 The guy's gotta make a living too man

  • @nerdboy123456 he sold the clothing company years ago even though he still gets money form them using his designs. He doesnt control the prices homie. On a side note, his shirts are pretty affordable, I get mine for 20-27 bucks from zumies and metropark.

  • @agentsamsonite7264 yea thats metropark ur prices r cheeper than mine 40-50 bucks here

  • @nerdboy123456 no they are not cheap....HOWEVER his prints are....BUY A PRINT....CUT IT OUT....and screen print your own damn shirt.

  • @nerdboy123456 I think he doesn't dictate the price, I think we do, by consuming them from stores that carry them.

  • @nerdboy123456 only because you can't relate to them...lol

  • He copies images, so did Warhol. But at least Warhol had something to saw about it other then " I like Obama" or "War is bad" Fairey's work looks cool yes, but it has no meaning beyond the immdeiate surface value. He is a figure head that has been raised to the status of fine artist in order to disarm the street art movement. Many street artists have complex concepts they wish to communicate. This is not his fault, he has been raised to this status by the art industry inorder to disarm streetart

  • Your totally right EcholnRed, but I think you know that typical youtuve audience wont get it. Fairey is a brand thats it. Very nice, visually appealing, but not art.

  • u sound ignorant

  • that's so rad. I didn't know what Shepherd's art was or how it was defined until you did. Yeah as a white privileged man myself I sometimes need to be reminded of my place. Which is to not try defining what my own art is and let other non-white folks tell me what it is. Thanks again! Your rad! Keep educating the masses homie!

  • Hastaeltope 78 His actual art is to display his beliefs within images to the world WITHIN the world not in galleries. He ripped off freedom of speech of those who fought for Social Justice? You're telling me those who fought for social justice don't want their beliefs known and heard? Get Educated. Don't try and point out racism when your racist yourself. BTW whose art you think was one of the most significant in the Obama Campaign? Open a book and close your mouth.

  • you wanna give an example you tool? or just going to point the finger with no hand and arm atatched

  • Xeroxs bingo shepard. You Xerox

  • He even looks like Warhol....just not as poignant

  • this guy would do an ad for walmart if they paid him enough. The word sellout isnt in this guys vocabulary. Joe strummer was an artis.

  • mavaffanculo Shepard Fairey!!!

  • BANKSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What?????

  • wow, fail

  • "this is a fine art situation , not street "

    dooshbey to political gridlock

  • Separd is a sell out!!

    zero charisma!

He is trying to pass himself off as an artist....nice dice.

shep i hope all that money was worth having no dignity.

  • So, you're saying you're not going to buy his prints, or what?

  • his name is not obay dum ass

  • its spelled obey dumbshit. and shitpard is a Plagiarist and douchebag.

  • Plagiarist.

  • Frank "officially" launched his posse campaign in 86--He really started to get noticed in 89. Yes he still skates...common its Los Angeles people...who doesnt?

  • how old is OBEY please tell me!

  • this guy has had one of the best journeys in life

    does he still skate ???

  • im a writer and this interests me main shit in australia is posters for bands etc its highly classified as "graff" in public's eyes although it is looked down upon if any one could get back to me with weat paste reicipe's and screen printing methods i would appreciate it thanks .

  • Cutnspray has a wheatpaste tutorial.

  • Fuck you

  • yes you do jason.. yes you do.

  • So just get down with the exacto knife huh? No hot blade or saudering iron or anything? Why is it so tedious for me then? Mabey im using too thick of paper because the blade just doesnt cut it for a large peice to me (24x36 and up) ... my fingers start cramping up and shit.
