@brightonblock Levrone used to be one of the top bodybuilders in the world during the 1990s and early 2000s (where he'd literally dwarf what you see here). You're absolutely right about the injuries. I remember preparing for a Golden Gloves tournament and I was hitting the bag without wrapping my hands at the end of my sparring/workout. Ended up tweaking my wrist really bad and couldn't fight.
i think kev could still compete, he's not as massive as before coz he's all natural now but i think he could compete at a natural body building competition and i know he would eat anyone alive on that stage. kevin is my inspiration and when i watched the levrone report on 2010 it made me wanna get back to the gym coz i had some time off too and like kev i got back and trained my butt off. now im bigger, better and stronger than before thanks to this guy! greetings from the Philippines Kev!:)

I have never has a single issue regarding my wrists or hands on the heavy bag.This is not me being big headed at all just stating a fact.
When u fight in any contact sport being overweighted with muscle is not beneficial....I am 92kg atm and I could rip this guy apart in the ring if I wanted...Fact

@jasoneric1981 dont get me wrong, i was referring to our body as being like whips rather bulldozers. but there are a few strikes in mma that have whipping motions. ..as for the right hand, its thrown like your throwing a spear at your enemy, so its more like a pool stick hiting a cue ball. bascily your not extending the elbow and using your tricep, elbow is secure , your throwing from your hip, torso rotator muscles, and scupala. its not easy, thats how we were taught in muay thai.

very healthy way in deed kev. iv used to bodybuild,i made the transformation to mma from bodybuilding 2 years ago,but i goto admit.bodybuilding does nothing for fighting, espically stand up.its took me almost 2 years to finally get the wind to go 10 rounds and grapple for 2 hours strait with pro fighters. the only way you to devolp fighting cardio is getting used it fighting itself,weightlifting is only a side.look up derek anthonys insane boxing skills,now that is very talented man. lol

@kpxflameboy I've left a message of support for Kevin on here, he's a legend of BB. However, don't believe for a second that being big (or strong) gives you the ability to fight, it simply doesn't. I sparred (and knocked out) the 1993 Mr. England when I was 17 years old and 55lbs lighter. Total respect for the discipline of Bodybuilding, great sport, but it ain't fighting.
I've been training martial arts for 29 years and he's not bad at all. his left side is weak but he has a good stance and he could box pretty well if he practised.

There is nothing more hardcore than punch till you drop heavybag interval training session. Ive used this method of training for my cardio and I will say it is the most intense cardio training Ive ever done. 4 or 5 2min rounds non stop pounding and you'll feel like your gonna die. + healthy diet and I dropped 15 lbs in 6 weeks and you'll be hittin like a truck. Love it. Gettin the gloves out.

@levrone2000 As soon as I saw the vid title I knew there would be haters already without reading any comments 1st. Proper technique on the bag is an acquired skill, not a necessity for a good cardio workout. I would love these other jokers to show how to punch a bag.
Someone could look fantastic on the bag but that doesn't mean they'll last.
Bad form. You can develop so much more power if you took a few boxing lessons. Just word of advice when throwing a punch or recoiling it bring your hands back to your face. You don't want to get caught with your hands down.
nobody tells the fighters not to lift weights that way cos they is fighters (and usually smart enough to get a little coaching before they post themselves on U-Tub implying some understanding of the art)
one last thing, boxing isn't the only way to hit somptin as the spinning backfist shows, (nice balance btw you might have potential)
Boxing is fun and I think it´s more fun to punch a bag than top go and train techniques and just punch in the air. The boxing training where I live is pretty boring. Only the sparring is fun. LOL at the spinning back fist.

Even though Levrone is one of the baddest bodybuilders ever, he should take the time to learn proper boxing technique. Even if you box for cardio, you look like a noob if you don`t have proper technique. He would destroy me in a fight though. Lol.

I did bodybuilding before I switched to fighting and can honestly say, Kevin is spot on here. A bit of boxing and kickboxing here and there is great for cardio. Just don't be one of those wankers who tries to look like a pro and acts like a tool while cardio boxing in the gym.

I sparred (and knocked out) the 1993 Mr. England when I was 17 years old and 55lbs lighter. Total respect for the discipline of Bodybuilding, great sport, but it ain't fighting.

There is nothing more hardcore than punch till you drop heavybag interval training session. Ive used this method of training for my cardio and I will say it is the most intense cardio training Ive ever done. 4 or 5 2min rounds non stop pounding and you'll feel like your gonna die. + healthy diet and I dropped 15 lbs in 6 weeks and you'll be hittin like a truck. Love it. Gettin the gloves out.

Bad form. You can develop so much more power if you took a few boxing lessons. Just word of advice when throwing a punch or recoiling it bring your hands back to your face. You don't want to get caught with your hands down.

nobody tells the fighters not to lift weights that way cos they is fighters (and usually smart enough to get a little coaching before they post themselves on U-Tub implying some understanding of the art)
one last thing, boxing isn't the only way to hit somptin as the spinning backfist shows, (nice balance btw you might have potential)

Boxing is fun and I think it´s more fun to punch a bag than top go and train techniques and just punch in the air. The boxing training where I live is pretty boring. Only the sparring is fun. LOL at the spinning back fist.

this is just a boxing -cardio work out. His form needs improving but regardless of that the purpose is cardio base training not preparing for a fight.
