  • Oh goodness. You make this look really easy, sensei. I'm having a ton of trouble with this because I always end up either rolling on my side or my legs don't carry over and I just flop back. Also, sometimes if I happen to be able to actually roll back, if I try rolling over my left with my left leg kneeling, I end up rolling over my right shoulder instead and vice versa. I get super frustrated. :(

  • @AnimeNox Oh oops I meant my left leg up and my right leg kneeling behind me.

  • @AnimeNox @AnimeNox It's best to find an aikido sensei to help you. But I'll talk you through a roll. Kneeling with your right knee up, you're going to roll over your right shoulder. Your lower left leg is on the mat, but crossways, not straight back or it'll get in your way. Look to your right. Reach back with your right arm. In one motion, sit down and swing your right leg backwards. The momentum should carry you.

  • everytimr i do it i hit my head because i am not so sure the back position. do you have any tips???

  • @animewacko666 I'm glad you're being careful. You definitely shouldn't be hitting your head. These are NOT backwards somersaults. Make sure you're only rolling on one shoulder at a time. If you're doing a left back roll, make sure your left knee is up to start with and that your legs go to your left and over. Reach back with your legs. If you're still having difficulties, please find a local aikido dojo. There's no substitute for face-to-face teaching. Good luck.

  • @eugeneaikido thx that helped abit
