  • waoooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • dude... make it shorter....

  • I've seen many of these objects relatively close - up at a traveling exhibit during the early 21st century. The objects that stood out the most to me were the bull - headed lyre & Queen Puabi's head - dress. Ur seemed like it would've gotten more exposure, but it was " upstaged " by Lord Carnarvon's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. Also, Egypt was more popular as a " sunny get - away " vacation spot for Europeans.

  • TheFaustianMan, you did a great job on your video! Thanks for sharing your visit with us! Keep up the good work and the enthusiasm.

  • smart net tips . tk

  • Human sacrifice sadly have been part of humanities options I guess, when plan A, B and C fails. Yes people used to do it since day one until today, that I know only Satanist do human sacrifices today. Obviously is illegal but back then it was just your fate if you got captured by war.

  • I wish I had known this and more when I was deployed there in 2004 with the U.S. Air Force. I was able to wander around the site freely. As much as I enjoyed this, this shouldn't have been allowed to happen. I have lots of photos though. It did help lay a strong foundation for my interest in Archaeology and helped lead to my retooling into the field of Archaeology.

  • Hmmmm. What was it with early civilasations that people were sacrificed? Or did that happened at all?

  • Fascinating.

  • 4:10

  • As a die-hard Stephen King Constant Reader, I find it xcellent that he leaned on Mesopotamia's Ur for his UR story.

  • If some years ago this page would have been available... Great museum and collection!!!

  • look at 0.50 you can see a face on the sand

  • When was the original air date or publication of this video? What was the context?

  • Who cares about your little scratch of land. If you like it so much, go marry it.

  • I LOVE ASSYRIANS bet nahrain BESLEWA kha nasha datee damri nashee leeyatee moo akhnan yaaateeghk moo akhnan maassekh dooodekh

  • bulgaria didnt exzist u ...

  • - jopiekopie, with empty brain, Bulgarians did not exist?. Wow, you are really lost in the forest!!! Bulgarians defeated the Chinese in 2137 BC. BC; BC! And other nice examples. Bulgarian history is dated from 15 000 BC. In Thrace/Bulgaria from 10 000 BC. In Sumer 6-5000 BC. Bulgaria-Thracians are oldest civilization in the world who gave cultures to other ppl in Asia, Near East, etc. So don´t BULSHITING me, dude, because I know my history beter than you.

  • - Listen to me, ignorant dude jopiekopie, this video in 2:31 and 3:25 shows the national Thracian-Bulgarian symbol (flower with 8 petals). Bulgarians know what the nr. 8 means, because Sumer was their creation. But do you know about the nr. 8?! Probably not.

    2. Bulgars/Bals were rulers in Sumer and this name meant lord soldier.

  • 3. In the video you also se the BULL as very important animal. BULLS were also Bulgarians who also wore BULL-helmets. BULL is also a Thracian (Bulgarian) symbol. This meaning of the term is preserved in Cucasus where they call the wild ox with the name bul-u. "Bol" (Bolghar), "Bal" are just another synonymous changed phonetically.

  • 4. It is not a secret that in Bulgaria were found world´s oldest script from 5000 BC and 2000 years older than in Sumer, and 3000 years older than Hebrew and the Old Testament, oldest axe-handle and 1500 years older than Mesopotamian, oldest golden ertefact, metallurgy from 4000 BC.

    5. Because you took over the initial Bulgarian Empire and culture, it means not that this history belongs to you who live now in this territory.

  • This is ok, but the best I've seen by far is the treasure of Nimrud. AWESOME!

  • cool

  • do you know how stupid u sound?

  • - Well, I do not care how stupid it sounds. What is important is the TRUTH. And the TRUTH is that almost everything comes from Great Bulgarians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whever you like it or not. You cannot steal Bulgarian history, calling it with another national names. Stealing is a CRIME!!! And, stupid ignorant pall, you cannot even tell me what I am wrong about. Do you have any sources against my history?! I don´t think so.

  • Scottie ancient Serbian warrior class and now have a Serbian customs: folk dances, and the vigil of the dead .....

  • ....Genetic researchers just last year reported that to this day 30% of the Men of Iraq actually have...SCOTTISH MALE DNA LINES.

The research team was shocked when their Y-Chromsome tests of the Men of Iraq showed a massive number of SCOTTISH MALE DNA LINES.

Of course MOST "European" tribes could not have come from Europe since most of that region was under 2 miles of ice until long after that last iceage ended

"Europeans" lived further south in those days founding Egypt/Summeria

  • looool! arab's imported european slaves! that's why there are scottish y cromosome's in iraq! also european's did NOT found egypt you simpleton!

  • who said i did not know about the east african slave trade!? but millions of europeans where sold into the arab slave trade! also it is well known that egyption civilization came from the south i.e nubia! nubia was alway more technologically advaced than egypt! FACT!

  • If you bother to R-E-A-D the Ancient texts of Egypt you SEE that they STATE they....."Came from ACROSS THE SEA".

Nubia is NOT "ACROSS THE SEA".

...So NO they did NOT Come from Nubia

And to claim that Nubia was "Always more davanced" is a JOKE.

Ohh and MOST Europeans forced into slavery in ancient times were needed in EUROPE.

who the hell would bother to go spend all that money shipping Europeans slaves...ALL THE WAY TO IRAQ...WHEN YOU COULD JUST SELL THEM IN EUROPE?

  • @jankraw Also blondes, redheads, light skin, and colored eyes iraqis are not rare at all. They are actually quite common in iraq, among many iraqi ethnic groups. Also,an iraqi having colored eyes or any caucasian facial feature, doesnt mean they are mixed with europeans.Colored eyes, blondes, and redheads always existed in northern middle east.

  • Watch my videos and learn history

    Mesopotamians VS (Eurocentrism&Afrocentrism)

  • @jankraw Umm.....thats not 100% true!!....iraqis dont have colored eyes because they mixed with europeans.Infact ancient caucasian ethnic groups orginated in nothern middle east around iran, afganistan, and armenia and then they moved out to europe. So in other words, scottish and other europeans do infact have their roots in the middle east, because caucasian ethnic groups did orginated in those asian regions we refer to the middle east today.

  • @jankraw Also, middle east is not an arab region, but a region filled with many ethnic groups. Many ancient middle eastern ethnic groups made their way to what we know as europe today.

  • This was very good but is there a second half to it? If so where can I find it? thanks

  • Sorry there is no second half. The exhibition, The Royal Tombs of Ur will be partially re-installed in the Museum this year. Currently, selected objects including the Ram in the Thicket are on display. We hope to post more material about this exhibition in the near future.

  • Wow that was really interesting and I enjoyed the flow and ease of the narration. I'm currently studying ancient near eastern art and just happened to come across this.

    So, thanks for posting it!

  • @pennmuseum thank you
