This arrangement is amazing. My school wants us to play this at our recital but I can't find the sheets. It'd be really helpful if someone could show me where to buy them
@ahmedkibaba the creator of The Exocist used the music with out Mike Oldfield's consent. and I hate the producers of that show for doing so. completly ruined a good album if you ask me.
@Classicalytrained sadly no, it was back int he day where that kind of thng happened quite often. I actually saw it on an interview on youtube. Mike said he was tarrafied of the movie for a long time before even seeing it.
To make a movie so genuinly terrifying is an accomplishment in itself. I willed myself to see it one night. Glad I did it, but you must feel up to the challenge first. Just like listening to the whole Amarok album of Mike for the first time
@jerkedevries Listening to the whole Amarok album was no challange. That movie has such an evil spirit with it that for years i was afraid of the song itself as well.
I get that. Me on the otherhand: I discovered Mikes music first and later on saw the movie. I wasn't forced to see it. I was alone at home, and choose to see it, with a pillow on the couch to hide. But I must admit, it could well be too much for people. I know that good and evil spirits exist. I think there should be an instruction by a real exorcist preceding the showing of the movie.
@Synrikeman And I had a cosmic experience (kinda) one night listening to Amarok. But in the beginning it seemed like chaos. But Mike has a sublime talent for music timing.
Turrebo, you are perhaps unaware what happens in the way of comb-filtering when stereo is squeezed down to mono. The original stereo of this gig sounds gorgeous. BTW acousticians and engineers alike find sweet spots easier in "shoebox' theatres than any other venue. While this small theatre is not the Muzikverein, it does not deserve this insult.
I don't know what 'comb-filtering' is, but I take it that's what happened here. It sounds like a bad thing. Strangely however, when I convert a stereo track to mono, nothing much happens. I agree with you, though, that smaller theatres usually have better acoustic properties than a stadium or something of the like. And keep in mind that my opinion of whats good can differ from yours. As far as I can tell this theatre sucks something awful, so please post the original stereo and prove me wrong!
Horrible... All 4 players are trying to play at least as loud as all others. In their defence, I must add that the acoustics are also horrible. A concrete bunker would sound better than this shoebox. Well, happy birthday Mike!
