@jhartist123 How do you know? Certainly here in the UK we prefer to give money quietly without causing a fuss. Like helping widows with funeral costs or helping an elderly member remain independent. On top of that we have charitable bodies set up, these allow us to help in a more organised way with disaster relief and donating to hospices (every hospice in the UK recieves masonic charity). Any money raised in the lodge goes to charity once the bills for upkeep are dealt with.

I am a mason in canada, if you are interested in joining a lodge, you need to find the lodge in your city or town and talk to the contact for that lodge, you can look up the lodge in the phone book or search for the lodge on google. I you just want to know about the history of the organization, type "freemason history" into google and almost anything you could want to know is there, be warned tho, alot of the "History" you find online can get a little bit skewed" Hope this helps!

There is no "god of masonry" other than The One True God. What confuses many folks, especially evangelical christians, is Masons only ask if you believe in that God, not how you believe in Him. In lodge there is NO worship at all, no defining of God AT ALL. No sermons AT ALL. THAT is "case closed" as it is fact, not heresay.

I meet a 32nd degree mason and he sent 2 guys to my house and I filled out an application form. The lodge voted on me and took my 100 dollars, and I paid 50 dollars for each degree. The hardest part was the memorization.

@pobody69 In Masonry, every thing has a double meaning. Thus, the Mason candidate is practicing occultism throughout his degrees without knowing it. False interpretations are given to keep him from suspecting the institution to be anything less than noble and upright in purpose.This deception, this false interpretation is called allegory.
