@loohy555 Saber can use avalon only when she's in magic burst. Shiro can launch his "trace-on" special at any time (if he has mana to use it), but the swords he throws must be blocked by the enemy for it to actually happen. Otherwise they will hit the enemy directly and the super will not work.

The only thing in this anime world that can do such a thing is Enuma Elish, and that's just a much stronger attack.

well, a union of a four layered Rho Aias + Belepheron pwned the dark Saber's excalibur (dark Saber > Saber) Excalibur it's 'only' an A++ noble phantasm. It's not invincible or anything. Same way with EA

plus. Fate stay night it's not originally an anime. It's a visual novel. only with the anime it's impossible to understand the story

A++ or EA are invincible unless you block it with something of a higher rank. I fail to see how Rho Aias can do such a thing as it's not even close to those ranks.

Shirou's Rho Aias crumbled each time Gilgamesh fired a sword at him, and those are only ranked B or less probably. Gae Blog is only ranked B at most... so no. Archer can't block it.

Gae Bolg is ranked as B+. However, it also has special destiny interference powers, so it cannot be merely treated as a rank B noble Phantasm.

Moreover, Gilgamesh's swords aren't that weak. Gate of Babylon is ranked as E-A++. There is a high probability that he did not fire mere rank B Noble Phantasms since Shirou managed to survive Ea.

Also, one cannot compare Shirou's Rho Aias to that of Archer's. The difference is quite obvious.

Last but not least, it would be retarded if Saber beat everyone.

It is ranked B+ for a reason. No matter what special powers it may possess, a rank is a rank. And they said that even a technique which can destroy the world wouldn't win if its rank was still low.

Compared to Ea, they are pretty weak. They can kill, but not on the level of Ea. And I don't think Shirou used Rho Aius to defend himself against Ea. He just released all of his magic which must have done something.

And Saber actually did beat everyone in the last war... except for Gilgamesh.

I meant Saber beating everyone gamewise. Shiki Tohno can be used as a normal character in Melty Blood while in Tsukihime he was weak. It would be unbalanced if she can just use lolhax.

Furthermore, you can't just degrade Gil's sword rain. After all, they are the prototypes of all current Noble Phantasms. An average Noble Phantasm is ranked about B, but since prototypes are superior to those that follow, according to Gil, they can be elevated up to rank A or more.

Moreover, Shiro's usage of Rho Aius was completely intentional. His quote before using it is "I'll make it, I'll pull out a shield from the hill of swords!" So, even if he did not know WHAT shield he was going to pull, he knew it was a shield that would protect him from a hailstorm of Noble Phantasms

Gae Bolg is ranked as B in terms of damage being dealt. However, its destiny interference powers are not to be underestimated. According to Kinoko,

"On the other hand, those with conceptual effects, destiny interference types fall into a special category. With Gae Bolg (regular), no matter how much Arcueid might be superior to Lancer in numbers, she will be killed depending on her luck, you see."

Ranks do not account for everything.

You are incorrect. Gilgamesh killed Berserker with the prototype of Gae Bolg, most likely Gungnir, which Gae Bolg surpassed according to Archer.Due to God Hand, Berserker should be invulnerable to any attack under rank A, which indicates a higher rank for Gil's spear. That or the destiny interference powers just bypassed God Hand.

Yep, the way Rho Aias and Excalibur work here is just for gameplay reasons. The actual Excaliblast would be much more devastating and there wouldn't be much hope to block it with a shield.

The shield blocked Gae Bolg because it's special ability is to be invincible against projectile attacks. But I suppose since all of Archer's tools are fakes, it's rank was reduced and Gae Bolg wasn't completely blocked.

not ture my friend, ive seen an UBW combo that did over like 100 hits perfect kill last match of the game, its an amazing back up plan if you start getting owned in the end o.o its like a fail safe thing, archer is the best!!
