It was height of the Cold War and after it ended in Dec, 1991, we started to go after the real bad guys instead of supporting bad and good characters that are anti-communists. Communism was a great threat to the free world but in the end we supported ridiculous anti-communist dictators. This wasn't a proud momemt in American history.

@Maxobillion World has really not seen clean communism so we cant know how would it work. But anyway at least in Cuba it has done good things, life expectancy has risen from less than 60 years to 78 (same that USA has but done with very small amount of money), and people get good education. Ofc thanks to embargo there is some lack of luxury and stuff, but still basic living conditions are good.

At 12:47 approx. The video shows photos taken from a high rise building apartment near the stadium. I lived near the estadio nacional in 1973 and I don't recall any building high enough to take photos from inside the stadium. The only buildings I recall from those times in the area would be the "villa olimpica", but at 4 floors, they were not near high enough to see into the stadium. Does anyone have a clue about what buildings they could possibly be referring to?

But anyway at least in Cuba it has done good things, life expectancy has risen from less than 60 years to 78 (same that USA has but done with very small amount of money), and people get good education. Ofc thanks to embargo there is some lack of luxury and stuff, but still basic living conditions are good.

According to Rettig Report (The National Commission for Truth and Reconciliation Report of Chile), within the missing persons, there are 49 children <16 years old; and 269 children between 16 to 20 years old.
It mean, the dictatorship KILLED INNOCENT CHILDREN. Recently I heard that within this list there is a baby of 3 years old.
When I heard it I cried, I have no family missing or disappeared, but it hurts the soul, knowing that they did this only for "pleasure" to feel powerful.

The narration is pure crap but I like this film. The camps look rather nice. It probably did those young commies a lot of good to march and sing patriotic songs instead of being harangued by their Marxist professors and throwing Molotov cocktails. In any event, it worked. The commies were kept locked up long enough to raise a new generation free of their propaganda after which Pinochet stepped down. The market-based system he set in place is working very well. Viva Pinochet!

At 12:47 approx. The video shows photos taken from a high rise building apartment near the stadium. I lived near the estadio nacional in 1973 and I don't recall any building high enough to take photos from inside the stadium. The only buildings I recall from those times in the area would be the "villa olimpica", but at 4 floors, they were not near high enough to see into the stadium. Does anyone have a clue about what buildings they could possibly be referring to?

i am of chilean-uruguayan nationality. my dad left chile at the age of 7 with his 2 brothers to escape prosicution to uruguay. he didnt return until 93. its good 2 know theres other chileans out there with a similar story.

The reason I blame Allende is because the documents regarding the Plan Z had to pass through the government before they could go abroad to the CIA. And yes, there is evidence they were altered by the government, so those people changed everything so the CIA didn't get what was really going on. That's why there isn't much of evidence about the Plan Z and all the people murdered. The history books were based in the events told by THE SOCIALIST PARTY, what do you think they did? They lied.

Come to look for the cards Allende used to threaten people to death. And violence in Chile did not start under Allende, it started in the 1800's, but that's a completely different matter. HUNDREDS of mapuche people died of hunger, because Allende stole their farms and lands and they hadn't anything to eat.
