thank the maker i fucking done it after about ten tries for fucks sake!... herers a tip run around a bit at the start and try and distract a few of the golems leaving the rest of your party to take the others on , when they kill them then join them i found that my party lasted longer trhis way!

Got her on my 3rd try. Have Oghren "threaten" Branka and peel her away, and let her chase him while Alistair, PC, and Morrigan take care of the golems. Then focus on Branka. Not only did my party members survive, but the two ally golems survived the entire fight! (Also, if you can, have your characters drain the lyrium pools b/c Branka will use those to power up. I used soldier's bane poison to keep her from regaining stamina.)

i think everyone is making this game way harder than it actually is...

I'm not trying to be a prick but everyone out there who is having difficulties needs to make one of the following characters and do ever single side quest possible before you get to orzammar...

character 1: arcane warrior/blood mage

character 2: blood mage/spirit healer

And use the following party:

alistair/shale: tank

wynne no matter what

Leliana dual weapons since bows suck

Try this and come back...

for xbox bows just seems to fail on nightmare mode. I much prefer Dual weapons over bow since I can't even hit anything with a bow and have a dexerety of high 50's with Leliana when she is butt raping little mobs with lethatlity, momentum, backstab, haste, song of courage, and all mage weapon enhancements. Just watch the mayhem after one mark of death death hexed guy that Leliana can do to this chump is freaking scary

Is this main a warrior?? Like kellann55, I succeeded easily last game, with my main a warrior, now my main is a mage and I'm dying badly. My main is a mage, plus I have Wynn, Ogren and Leliana. I'm going to try an earlier save and regroup with Alistair instead of Leliana and try him drawing aggro and pulling like this video.

I dont get it...I beat her pretty handily on my last game (normal mode, arcane warrior, w/ alistair, wynne and Ogren). Now this go around I'm a warrior and cant beat her on normal! Ogren dies in like 4 seconds!!

just make sure you take all the lyriumveins so she cant heal and duplicate. my tactic was to freeze the golems and make them shatter with mightyblow/shield pummel or something oike that. i tried MANY times... you just need patience and tactics... most important is the lyriumvein part

paitience is one thing ill never have the last boss fight of the game i used the ballista's to help with that and the dwarves didn't do much to stop the darkspawn that attacked about at the halfway point of the fight but the freindly AI fucking sucks your teammates can't heal themselves unless you control them and it was a hell of a hard time beating the archdemon even when i swithced to the casual difficulty

Arcane warrior.... but my skill selection, attributes, and equipment are closer to what a warrior would pick.

Mage's (especially AW mages) actually have really great buffs for tanking.

im playing on normal and beat this boss fight in the first attempt....if ur fighting Branka just make sure to preserve the Golems and they will do most of the work ;)

I must've missed some sort of uber character upgrade while I was playing, because this boss just handed my ass to me 3 times in a row.

Nah, it took me a few tries too...

I had to set my guys to focus on what I attacked, then make them go after whatever the good golems were fighting to kill those quickly while I distracted the rest.

Once you kill them, Branka isn't that hard to take down.

I started a new character and went to the elves first before anything else. Every thing after that was a breeze. However, I also made my new character on easy.

@kylejb this really isn't that hard of a boss fight, its just that by the time you get to it your resources tend to be drained from fighting brood mother. I got to this boss and had to start over cuz I had no pots left to keep my healers mana up and you cant turn back at this part... Always make a back up save >.<
