@lolforpokemon Ven, in the end of Birth by Sleep, sent his heart to young Sora. When Sora released Kairi's heart in KH1, he also released his own and Ven's heart. Kairi gave Sora his own heart, but Roxas had already taken possession of Ven's heart. Roxas is Sora's Nobody and has Ven's heart.

@wales19 Part of Ven's heart got locked up in Sora (hence the symbolic scene at the end of the Birth by Sleep opening). When Sora used the keyblade on himself in KH1, he actually set free Ven's heart inside him as a Nobody, which is why Roxas looks the way he looks.
