What? Do even know anything about rotary's? If its not shooting flames, it ain't happy. BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAP, love that car, what kinda port does it have?
Look asshole- I have been building hot-rod rotaries longer than you have been alive. My first Mazda's had 2 distributors, 5 foot long mufflers, and there was no such thing as an RX7. My first car was a 1971 R100 with a bridgeported 12A. My second car was a 1974 Rotor Truck with a bridgeported RX7 13B and a 5-speed. I've owned drag-race RX2's and a road-race Mazda Cosmo. In fact I have NEVER owned an RX7 let alone a faggoty blue-purple monstrosity. My comment wasn't about your jetting problem.
Relax pal, no need to be a dick because you feel your tastes are superior. I respect your taste in cars, I would have loved to been around in that era when R100s were not like finding a needle in a hay stack. But to me this "faggoty blue-purple monstrosity" doesn't look like a half bad way to have some fun on the track. Obviously this car wasn't built with style, n show in mind, its a track beater, that was slapped together in mind that it would be abused, and was likely spray bombed this blue.
that is true but at what cost to your exhaust pipes? if they get hot and warp you wont get the right flow which will overall drain your horses slightly
ok and how hot do u really think ur exhaust is gona get? when have u ever seen an exhaust manifold warp? i havnt and certainly aint seen anyone elses warp...flames wont warp your exhaust...not sooty yellow flames but blue flames will
Naw... its a rotary thing... they do that when you run them off with good fuel too... my 1.3L hasn't held one that long, but if i got down the highway I get a steady flame...
wow my 7 spits flames to urs is non stop why.And what kind of port is that also how much hp does a beast like that have. But nice first gen man that shit is sick.
Sorry, but I can't say anything about the engines porting or its hp.
I purchased the engine as new some 18 years ago from a Mazda dealer in Luxembourg (Europe), who imported it directly from Japan (he said), so that I think it should be an original one.
But compared to my other RX7s, it the best engine that I ever had ....
That rx7 is super rich bitch!

that its not a car! is a motor whit weels :D
Maalevolent 3 years ago 7
OK it's not a waste of gas... any rotary without a cat will shoot flames. They run super rich because they don't get a complete burn.
jdarens 3 years ago 12
Or is it because we modified a little bit too much the carb ...? :)
TomaSpeed 3 years ago 2
to much gas
Colarx8 3 years ago
might want to thin it out a bit but I think it's fine, a bit leaner might give ya a better burn and slight gain in hp. experiment mate

its dorta a waste of gas because your not burning all your fuel so your loosing money and power
superdude361 3 years ago
A little bit more fuel a low RPM is good for cooling the engine !
TomaSpeed 3 years ago 5
i'd rather loose a tiny bit of power than see it melt? and yes it does aid cooling the engine...very slightly depends on your intake system

sorry thats my bad lol mine warped because i use straight nitrous when i race thats probrably why i was confused.
Rotary my ati piston
superdude361 3 years ago
drag car? u wud need a tank the size of a tanker full of nos to race round a track?!?!?
SiMoNsKy22 3 years ago
not totally nos just to start and finish the race with
superdude361 3 years ago
Easy, set up the Nos to fire for a set period of time when full throtle is hit. Say, a 5-10 second burst.
blyndrotor 3 years ago
yeah just like the turbo's in formula palmer audi....only get a set ammount of boost per race

About the flames:
1) After 2 hours of non-stop racing, the exhaust system was extremely hot.
2) Due to my self-modified Niki carb, the car runs a little bit rich at idle.
3) We tested fuel/synthetic 2t-oil mixture 100:1 without OMP for the first time.
4) We run a very big self-made straight trough exhaust system.
So if you put 1), 2), 3) and 4) together you'll find the reason :-)
TomaSpeed 4 years ago
We didn't care too much why this happened, because we planned some major changes for the next season:
A Bridge Port engine
Weber 48 IDA carb
Self made 4 coils DFI System
Change the fuel/oil mixture ratio
......

That sounds crazy awesome! sweet...
