the topload wont realy do much at those power levels... have you tried microwave oven transformers? the jump in power in my coil was amasing (although i havent touched mine in more than a year prolly 3 years lol)
i have 3 MOTs sitting in my garage but apparently its hard to run a tesla coil with MOTs. is this true? because i would love to give it a try with microwave oven transformers :)
its not easy but if you have the caps and the diodes then you can make a doubler circut, but you will need a rotory spark gap (wont need to be syncronus) or a very well blown spark gap.. i used a stasionary gap when i went to mots but it over heats quickly (bout 20 sec or less) the spark gap i made for mine cost about $10 (not including the angle grinder) have a look at my vids and you'll see the gap.. you will fry your secondary quickly though lol
yes i have watched and enjoyed your videos many times :D and i noticed the angle grinder. i will try and get an old one off my cousin haha. its getting all the caps, thats the hard part for me.
go to the dump with some screwdrivers pliers and cutters.. and have a dig around in the scrap metal bin.. I'm sure you'll find what you need.. also look for a motor you could use (an angle grinder is really fast lol i use 4 flying electrodes but you could have a slower motor and have more electrodes)
that sucks you gotta get in there good books, you know of any repairers around the joint? most of the time if your nice they have some old stuff laying around,, or try at a local large electronics store as some people get new ones delivered and again if your nice you might be able to get the driver to give your number to people, give em $5 a microwave or something
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU WOMAN!
