the state religion is protestant; as such we are a protestant people, to claim we are not is an insult to this countries heritage.
britains laws are worked around the church of englands bible, its monarchy is protestant and 80% of the populas have either been to a coe school or have had some involvement with it.
so yes, we collectively as brits are protestant. individually maybe not.
im an athiest but i find it highly insulting you would call this guys faith as a superstition.
Putting aside your other comments regarding the EU with which I tend to pretty much agree, I would take issue with your assertion that 'we are a Protestant people'. Are British Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Hindus and Sikhs protestant? Your churches are empty, your clergy discredited and this country is not even Christian let alone Protestant. Most of us have put aside the superstitions of our grandparents.
@letstorkbollocks he is not saying that we all believe in Christianity he is saying its our tradition and part of our culture and that other religions are not and we should not let other religions try to barge in and take over and take away our holidays etc. If there was a public holiday for say Ramadan I personally would be appauled at it as it has been enforced on us and is not part of our culture

@mendontski We're not Protestant, it's the Church of England. Just because it's derived from something, doesn't make it so. Get your facts straight.
