My heart goes out to all who suffer from ptsd. I came across a book that deeply touches the subject more than any other type book I've read before. Please visit kaitlyngant dotcom
It's a book that explores the darkness yet gives hope.
my ptsd went untreated for 20 years and is untreatable... the meds suck and keep me heavily sedated... i have hand tremors and ive become lazy... the va gave me 100% permanent and total disability and says i cant work... i lost a very fun job as a fireman and am fixing to loose my wife because of it...i need a support group but they dont offer it at the va... my live basically sucks... well, thats my take on ptsd... thanks for listening...
@93CFD my friend - get the hell off the meds. Those pieces of crap are demons in a goddamn bottle - i swear. Get off the meds, wake up..go to work...come home..then do as much fun things as possible. get all the bills , etc. out the way, and watch seasons of TV shows, etc. online - i call it "dispatching joy" lol. Having a job helps = we need balance in our lifes. Work sustains that balance, without it - we rot and become lazy, and your job is too important - we need our firefighters. God bless
@93CFD If the damn VA wont help beyond compensation, try to find a friend at your old job, I had a friend from 2nd Recon Battalion, 2nd Marine Div. I knew something was wrong, but I never asked. He blew his brains out. There is not a day in my head, sometimes it keeps me up at night. "I should have asked, I should have known." I could have done something, but I didnt. It kills me inside. Talk to a friend, instead of self medicating like I did after his death.
@93CFD Hi, PTSD is a bitch, but if you can find loving support and restructure your life, you will heal. I don't know what meds you're taking, but paxil made 18 months of trying to reason with panic, anger and elevating phobia pretty much evaporate. I'm off now, but the main ingredient was putting myself into a positive environment with appropriate stimulus levels. You've seen something that most people will never see. Use it to your advantage and to understand the world as you see fit.
@TheSweatybutcher my shrink suggested yoga also... i guess that must be true about how it helps your mood... as far as moving,,, im prittty much stuck here in charleston for a while... maybe i can somehow bring it up and get someone at this va to start group therapy... i talked them into a much needed anger management group so why not a ptsd group therapy...
@93CFD if they dont have a group therapy program your getting F'ed. my VA has 10-15 groups with 8-12 people in each one(dont know if thats a good or bad thing). i bet if you wrote your senator/governor about the issue it would help get the ball rolling. good luck
Very Nice Vid. I suffer from PTSD, did two tours in Iraq, nice to see someone in our corner that sees this as a problem also. Took me over a year after my second tour to admit to myself that something was wrong with me...Then finally went to the VA.

I found that the Youtube channel Help For My Life has some helpful material in dealing with PTSD. Check it out and pass it on.

@93CFD if you can move to a better VA that has group therapy. i would also suggest yoga to help reduce stress, anxiety and so you can relax.
