Comparing Lulu with Sandie is like comparing apples and oranges they are both very nice and as for the comment made that Lulu is common or scruffy you obviously haven't a clue. There is a big difference between being brought up poor to being scruffy. Lulu ( like myself) has a strong dialect but was well brought up. Maybe you are remembering her from To Sir With Love where all the kids in the movie were scruffy.

She never cracked the Top 40 here in the states, but I remember her "Girl Don't Come" getting a lot of airplay here in the mid-60s. Great song, maybe too unusual for American radio at that time.

Your Lulu always looked common - just have browse at the old videos ,you'll see that she really looks cheap and ugly and has no finesse whatsoever!
