Lara Croft may have been boring to you, but to me I don't see many females carrying a dark, smart, strong, silent type character around. That to me is someone more comfortable in a dark, cold tomb solving puzzles, ancient text, & beating monsters. Not the high school class clown.

The original Lara Croft anyways. They decided she was boring & turned her into this stupid, softy.

That's what's great about Drake, if you looks at game characters now, they're all trying to be unique and end up failing. There's been some characters I've enjoyed such as Cole in inFamous. No matter how generic the character may feel, it always makes you feel like you know the character. At least Drake is the best cliched character, and a lot of people like him for that fact, he's cliched but he does a damn good job being it.

Yes, let's encourage uncreative characters and stories in game's. That way the market will go down the hill in boring it's players to death with the same story, over and over and over again.

That way, they can focus solely on how good it looks instead of any artistic depth.

I never said anything in that region. It's hard to make an innovative story nowadays without saying you ripped something off. Not every developer is making games like Half Life and Final Fantasy. If you want a good story read a book because games are about the gameplay and Uncharted was much better in that sector, not to mention it had superior voice work and production value overall.

You've got to be kidding me about Final Fantasy. They may as well use the same characters for every game. If you've played one FF you've played them all.

Now Half-Life is a great game, especially Half-Life 2. Valve are genius, haven't played a Valve game I didn't like.

One of the best stories and game world's I've seen in a long time is that of Mass Effect though. As games go it was very engaging.

Another is Bioshock, IMO one of the greatest games ever created.

Bioshock & half-life are good games but they're far from being the best ever.

Hah, Bioware's characters are the most predictable, cookie cutter characters in the gaming world. Mass Effect was KOTOR1 without Lucas breathing down their necks. They even took names & plots, from KOTOR1 and 2, as well as the voice actors.

The game play is good is ME, that's the only reason I play it. I can see the repetitive play in the KOTOR series, but KOTOR2(by Obsidian) had a far more interesting story then KOTOR1. I able to write an essay on the literary elements used in KOTOR2's story.

If you want deep characters and an amazing story that reflects upon society and humanity I'd highly recommend the Ender series. My favorite book series of all times. If you aren't into reading then, well... you're missing out.

Looks at games like Gears and Halo... Absolute tripe for storylines and yet people will defend the game with their lives when you even try to say it's worse then a 10/10.
