Professor Shergold raises a great issue here for businesses to examine. I think if they would begin to integrate such CSR strategy into their actual business strategy, we would have much better long term outcomes on profitability, company reputation, and sustainability.

The guy has made an interesting point in the video and that is will corporate maintain CSR activities even when there is an economic downturn. Wile I agree to the second school of thought mentioned in the video.

On the topic of social responsibility. The rats are jumping ship.
CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners Association has recently taken down it's YouTube channel.
The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the discovery of dangerous levels of MERCURY in HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

excuse me:) the guy is right at the end of this monologue but i would still argue against a transparency factor. are monopolies needing the transparency remain vexing question. i am optimistic about CSR concept though. it is a new way of the social capitalism. it is the way to build a knowledge-based, interdisciplinary, economical attitude. this gay could be easily undermined by an average kazik graduated with polish educational system. csr as discipline does not reqiure a donational sponsorship from multinationals. it needs a financial independency to create a trust amongst a partners and wide spectrum of alliances within a legal sphere of Public Affairs in many examples.
