  • So what ever this is a song that is about WALKING IN BEAUTY. POLICE SIRENS ALL AROUND US. Just remember that as we live, we are walking in beauty, above us, below us, beside us, behind us, and in front of us. I have not got it right, but I think that there is beauty all around all of us

  • just one question: Why is this song on the Jack Johnson album?

  • i do believe it's in one of his surf videos.

  • We learned it listening to underground radio in the 60s while driving across Kansas in the middle of the night. People will be singing this song forever.

  • I for one certainly hope so :)

  • A Native American Sax player from Portland, OR named Jim Pepper. Very interesting profile on PBS last night about him (local). Brewer and Shipley did a version many remember.

  • not sure who wrote it, but according to Dugalas, it's a bit of a legendary song amongst band of the ilk of te bandits. The Harpers Bizzare version is thebest ive eard

  • cheers! duglas and co cannae help but cheer me, with their ear for a sweet melody and no bull approach to playing and singing.Who wrote this song song though?

  • It might surprise you. People of the Comanche Nation wrote this song way, way, way back when. :) The music for most of the modern derivatives (including this one) though are based on the soft jazz version by Jim Pepper, which is the only "pop" song with genuine Native American lyrics to hit the charts.

  • i know ,smartypants. What is this ? some correctional facility?>
