This is a pure representation on the beauty and revealing nature of art. The Harlem riots were terrible and this right here is an amazing interpretation of what people in these times had to go for. So I feel thankful: Thankful for those that lost their lives to humanities mistakes and those with the vindication and respect to never forget.
i enjoyed the movie this was a keeper when i heard this song its always great to have a newer version from the original that takes the message and music up another level.
This is such a devastating part of the movie. I covered this and my video is somewhat inspired by this idea. If you have a spare moment, check it out on my channel. I did something different with it than most :).
@getalife768 I completely agree with you! I really dislike covers of Beatles songs, and I don't think anyone should do covers, except this. This is SO powerful.
God Damn that woman's voice! when she went up to that high note jesus christ i got chills. not only is the seen itself extremely powerful but the arrangement of the song alone is one hell of an eargasm!
Oh God the first time I've seen this I was bawling. This, you guys, is powerful shit because it is and was very real.Though the movie does exagerate a bit, we've all had our hearts broken by death. This song was beautifully written and performed here.So much soul.I also love at the end when the last piano key was off.Just screams meloncholy.
TALVEZ ALGUNOS ME MIENTEN LA MADRE POR ESTO , PERO CREO QUE LA COMPOSICION ARREGLOS Y VOCES DE LA PELICULA SUENA MUCHO MEJOR QUE LOS BEATLES....NO TODAS PERO SI EN SU MAYORIA
@AustinHobs wow. this song isn't about "getting the top comment", and it's disgusting that that's all you can think about. this song is about the beauty in the world, and people like you ruin it.
I was watching the Special Features disc of ATU, and Evan was talking about this scene, and she was saying about how she wasn't going to cry or anything, and then she had said that she realized that this could really be going on, right at this second, and that she had just let it all go. Those emotions you see are real, and truly a wonderful thing to see during such a difficult moment. ♥
There was a riot also, so that kind of force was authorized. It shouldn't have been, but how else would you stop them? They won't just stop by command.
@craz3ydeath You'd have to detain them using nonlethal force - baton, mace, handcuffs. I don't think you can shoot someone for refusing to stop stealing, but you can shoot them if they are physically threatening someone right?
Its like listening to 2 diff songs. I think both this and the original version are equally as good, because honestly you cant compare the 2. They may both be the same lyrics but I feel that this version has a completely different tone and is played much slower, which i believe is more powerful and shows a sadder side to this song. Where as the original is played a little more upbeat with more piano and pauls tone seems somewhat happier , which to me represents a more positive side of the song.
@NescioQuidErgoDeus I like their voices better and I love originals more. I've known that song forever and heard so many versions. This one is my 2nd fav.
I was three years old, living in Detroit during the '67 riots, and I dont believe the National Guardsmen who were sent to the city were shooting, and clubbing rioters.
When this movie was in theaters, I'll never forget the collective gasp from the audience when the little boy was first shown in the coffin....Powerful moment. You just don't see that kind of reaction from the entire crowd like I did anymore....POWERFUL moment indeed.
@indyracingnut We saw this movie clip in our history class today when we were talking about the decade. There was a mutal moment of sorrow when the boy was shown by the car and in the coffin. To kill such an innocent boy in a riot he wasn't the cause of or a member of. I love this country and I can't believe who we were at one time...
THIS SONG ALWAYS GIVES ME CHILLS. I LOVE THE MOVIE, AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG. EVEN THOUGH I WAS NAMED AFTER ANOTHER BEATLES SONG, THIS IS MY FAVORITE
my grandparents had the beatle, elvis, nat king cole, ray charels ect. my parents had ACDC, metallica, pink floyd, led zepplin ect, what the hell do i have nothing thats what i wish i was born in the late 50's and i wuld have all the nice classic cars to its not fair this sucks
brought tears to my eyes because i thought to myself what if that happened to my brother, he was going to the national guard at the time and i watched this when after he shiped off i was so scared
I didn't meant to be racist and i was just suprised about how the song is changed when it is sung by these singers. If I insulted you or anyone else, i'm sorry.
@herointoast It's not actually racist... it does define a difference between races, but it's not race-IST, he's not insulting the white race. Not everything that shows a difference in races is racist; if I say white people are better than black people, then it's racist. If I say black people often live in Africa, it's not racist...
Went through this same thing with my older brother dying in Afganistan 6 years ago. I was with my mom when we heard. This was one of his funeral songs chosen by me. Seeing this scene in theaters a few years later literally had me crying so hard I had to excuse myself from the theater. Powerful stuff here, even now.
my brother is a Marine and every time i see this i immideatley start crying my eyes out hoping that that wont b him anytime soon. and it breaks my heart to see that people were treated like trash not too long ago and that this still goes on in the world and that people joke about racism as if its no big deal and it really is. all i can say is thank GOD for Martin Luther King Jr. he knew what he was doing when he made a difference but i dont think he would realize the impact he made in the world

And I can't help but wonder now Willie McBride,
Do all those who lie here know why they died?
Did you really believe them when they told you the cause?
Did you really believe that this war would end wars?
Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame,
The killing and dying it was all done in vain,
For Willie McBride it all happened again,
And again, and again, and again, and again.
