    Beautiful song..

  • This is a pure representation on the beauty and revealing nature of art. The Harlem riots were terrible and this right here is an amazing interpretation of what people in these times had to go for. So I feel thankful: Thankful for those that lost their lives to humanities mistakes and those with the vindication and respect to never forget.

  • This is probably the best cover of a Beatles song that I have ever heard.

  • The mother's expression after she receives the flag. It breaks me.

it doesn't matter how many times I try,

there's no way to keep tears from falling while watching it :')

  • This is the only cover of a Beatles song that I like more than the original. Her voice is so powerful.

  • @getalife768 I think they did a great job with strawberry feilds I mean nothing beats the orignal

  • @getalife768 i like the boys singing more xD i just think this song sounds better at a slower tempo

  • @getalife768 I completely agree with you! I really dislike covers of Beatles songs, and I don't think anyone should do covers, except this. This is SO powerful.

  • 101 people are souless cunts

  • best remake of this song I know of :)

    and my fave movie 2!

  • bone chilling when she hits that high note..

  • shit man...why i dont know to sing ....

  • It seems to me that it is the part that mas does me to become very sad of the movie

  • Only Beatles´s songs could produce such a powerful effect

  • @JingleBalls91 SO TRUE! Beatles forever!

  • God Damn that woman's voice! when she went up to that high note jesus christ i got chills. not only is the seen itself extremely powerful but the arrangement of the song alone is one hell of an eargasm!

  • 101 people are SCREWED UP in the head.. this song is unbelievable

  • i have goose bumps

  • This is the most beautiful version of the most beautiful song

  • Check thomas hayes cover!!!

  • This touched my heart in so many ways.

  • 99 people no have hearth

  • Oh God the first time I've seen this I was bawling. This, you guys, is powerful shit because it is and was very real.Though the movie does exagerate a bit, we've all had our hearts broken by death. This song was beautifully written and performed here.So much soul.I also love at the end when the last piano key was off.Just screams meloncholy.

  • wow. im crying so hard right now

  • And I can't help but wonder now Willie McBride,

Do all those who lie here know why they died?

Did you really believe them when they told you the cause?

Did you really believe that this war would end wars?

Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame,

The killing and dying it was all done in vain,

For Willie McBride it all happened again,

And again, and again, and again, and again.

    - Green Fields of France

  • Definitivamente habria estado bien sin la patetica escena del funeral militar

  • Sinto uma coisa fora do comum com esse vídeo! PERFEITO!

  • TALVEZ ALGUNOS ME MIENTEN LA MADRE POR ESTO , PERO CREO QUE LA COMPOSICION ARREGLOS Y VOCES DE LA PELICULA SUENA MUCHO MEJOR QUE LOS BEATLES....NO TODAS PERO SI EN SU MAYORIA

  • Tim Mitchum everyone!

  • I've seen this part countless times... I still tear up when they show the kid in the coffin. :(

  • i. love. everything. about . this. video.

  • really beautiful song

  • Just go ahead and like this damn comment. I need to make at least 19 to get to the top.

  • @AustinHobs wow. this song isn't about "getting the top comment", and it's disgusting that that's all you can think about. this song is about the beauty in the world, and people like you ruin it.

  • the second that boy started singing i got chills everywhere

  • This makes me hate my own race.

  • @Theepicwin9 this whole thing is about hate why hate about thing

  • @Dylan9999333 ????????

  • 2:16 Well no shit. I don't think this is a lament to be sung in the middle of a BATTLE SEQUENCE!!!!! Run dude, don't just sit by the damn car!

  • When his mother hugs the American flag and just...starts to cry, I lose it every time. This is so heartwrenchingly sad :( I love this movie!

  • I was watching the Special Features disc of ATU, and Evan was talking about this scene, and she was saying about how she wasn't going to cry or anything, and then she had said that she realized that this could really be going on, right at this second, and that she had just let it all go. Those emotions you see are real, and truly a wonderful thing to see during such a difficult moment. ♥

  • 97 people were peole looting.

  • Can you literally shoot people for looting? I thought that was over the top unrealistic.

  • @drchen054

There was a riot also, so that kind of force was authorized. It shouldn't have been, but how else would you stop them? They won't just stop by command.

  • @craz3ydeath You'd have to detain them using nonlethal force - baton, mace, handcuffs. I don't think you can shoot someone for refusing to stop stealing, but you can shoot them if they are physically threatening someone right?

  • @drchen054

From the clips it shows, it looks like a threatening situation. They are throwing Molotov type weapons, so lethal force would have been approved.

  • Its like listening to 2 diff songs. I think both this and the original version are equally as good, because honestly you cant compare the 2. They may both be the same lyrics but I feel that this version has a completely different tone and is played much slower, which i believe is more powerful and shows a sadder side to this song. Where as the original is played a little more upbeat with more piano and pauls tone seems somewhat happier , which to me represents a more positive side of the song.

  • i never understood why the two girls drop their bikes and run to the house.... wouldn't it be faster to ride the bikes to the house THEN drop them?

  • Paul mccartney wrote this song for Aretha Franklin. He wanted a strong black lady to sing this.

  • One of the few beatles covers better than the original

  • @NescioQuidErgoDeus No. Original is still better.

  • @TwistedSister09

How so? The people here have better range and more feeling put into the song... and I'm a huge Beatles fan.

  • @NescioQuidErgoDeus I like their voices better and I love originals more. I've known that song forever and heard so many versions. This one is my 2nd fav.

  • This song is what i listen to when I'm sad.

This song is what i listen to when I'm happy.

This song is what i listen to for inspiration.

This song has changed to world.

-Like if you think so too-

  • What amazing control she has... I wish I was more musically inclined. Oh wells.

  • respect to the army cant wait till i sigh up

  • What movies is this from?

I was three years old, living in Detroit during the '67 riots, and I dont believe the National Guardsmen who were sent to the city were shooting, and clubbing rioters.

  • @40intrepid Across the Universe.

  • Holy crap. I think my hair just fell out. This chicks voice gives me like, super-ultra-fantastical chills.... brrrr...

  • When this movie was in theaters, I'll never forget the collective gasp from the audience when the little boy was first shown in the coffin....Powerful moment. You just don't see that kind of reaction from the entire crowd like I did anymore....POWERFUL moment indeed.

  • @indyracingnut I did'nt see this movie in theaters but I did rent the DVD and no shit, Lindsey and I even at home gasped at that scene.

  • @indyracingnut what moive was it?

  • @indyracingnut We saw this movie clip in our history class today when we were talking about the decade. There was a mutal moment of sorrow when the boy was shown by the car and in the coffin. To kill such an innocent boy in a riot he wasn't the cause of or a member of. I love this country and I can't believe who we were at one time...

  • WOW!

  • That woman's voice gives me chills every time!

  • Phil, bio, co, pan these are roots they stand for Phil = love, Bio = life, co = with and Pan = all put it together and u get love life with all

  • work it shaniqua, let it be

  • everytime, every single time i hear this song it gives me chills all over my body

  • Forgive me for being a hater, but that was actually pretty cheesy

  • @kapr3cious No sir forgive me for being a hater you have no heart.

  • This was played at my brother's funeral this summer.. RIP, David. <3

  • Come hear my version of Let it be on my channel pleaaaaaaaase ! :)

  • THIS SONG ALWAYS GIVES ME CHILLS. I LOVE THE MOVIE, AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG. EVEN THOUGH I WAS NAMED AFTER ANOTHER BEATLES SONG, THIS IS MY FAVORITE

  • absolutely love this song and the amount of emotion conveyed in the video is unbelievable! amazing!

  • i love this movie and the rendition of the song is superb!

  • What ever happen to TImothy T, had such a great voice!

  • If only america could listen to this song...we need to be moved again..

  • never watched a music video with so much soul

  • Makes me cry every time ♥♥♥♥♥

  • im sorry but im blinded forever....

  • brought tears to my eyes because i thought to myself what if that happened to my brother, he was going to the national guard at the time and i watched this when after he shiped off i was so scared

  • I didn't meant to be racist and i was just suprised about how the song is changed when it is sung by these singers. If I insulted you or anyone else, i'm sorry.

  • At 0:10 the guy looks like Tom Hanks... Doesn't he?!

  • Why do African Americans sing so awesomely? :D

  • One of my favorite beatles covers of all time

  • How could this ever be sung by white people??

No offense, but black people have more soul in there voice..

  • @TheRelax34567 because paul mccartney has soul. he's one of the only people that have that much soul.

  • @TheRelax34567 wow, do you have any idea what the clip you just watched had ANYTHING to do with??? pretty ironic you would make a racist remark.

  • @herointoast It's not actually racist... it does define a difference between races, but it's not race-IST, he's not insulting the white race. Not everything that shows a difference in races is racist; if I say white people are better than black people, then it's racist. If I say black people often live in Africa, it's not racist...

  • @TheRelax34567 Racist!

  • This song is sooo well done. this made me cry, which hasn't happened since my close friend passed away earlier this year. Truly powerful.

  • how could you dislike this song?!

  • Went through this same thing with my older brother dying in Afganistan 6 years ago. I was with my mom when we heard. This was one of his funeral songs chosen by me. Seeing this scene in theaters a few years later literally had me crying so hard I had to excuse myself from the theater. Powerful stuff here, even now.

  • my brother is a Marine and every time i see this i immideatley start crying my eyes out hoping that that wont b him anytime soon. and it breaks my heart to see that people were treated like trash not too long ago and that this still goes on in the world and that people joke about racism as if its no big deal and it really is. all i can say is thank GOD for Martin Luther King Jr. he knew what he was doing when he made a difference but i dont think he would realize the impact he made in the world

  • clearly 97 people were not on as many drugs as the rest of the world when they saw this movie...try again my friends...try again

  • Will always be my favorite movie...

  • This woman can fuckin crank! Jesus christ

  • It seems to me that the biggest riots in Detroit occured around the time of Dr. King's assination, which was in 1968. By the time "Let It Be" was released (1970, I believe) major race riots in Detroit involving National Guardsmen were a thing of the past. I could be wrong about the timing, but historical innacuracies ruin things (for me).

  • Please come hear my version of "Let it Be" on my channel !

  • Mother Mary comes to me

  • I don't get why there is racism in this world. It's just a skin color.
