Instead of UDU though, I think I'm actually playing DUD but you have to do it FAST! as if it were just one down stroke with just a split second up stroke. Let us know if that works for you

Can anybody post a suggested strum pattern similar to what this guy is playing?
I'm a newbie, so "Just listen and play the same thing" doesn't work for me, because I can't interpret what I'm hearing.
Is it mostly just downstrokes like wontonofanmail said? It's hard to play a lot of downstrokes quickly in a row.
I'm wondering if it's something like...

I have the capo on the 8th fret cuz im tuned down 1/2 step...capo on 7th fret if your using standard tuning
