I think that it was about 12m x 7m but I've got the world's worst memory. All the earth that went round the edges was from the existing pond so it was full of good aquatic plants so it should grow in really quick.
It was like creating a nature reserve in a back garden. All the plants were already there so shoul regenerate into something special. I did like the platforms aswell. The lady of the house is a member of conservation organisations so will have groups of people around to view the ponds next year.
In most gardens, when it rains enough to overflow the ponds, everything else is boggy anyway so normally I don't put overflows in. As for being fit, not really. I'm just efficient with my energy.
As I take the kids to school every morning and pick them up some nights, my working day is shorter than most other landscapers so I have to be very organised with deliveries and work schedule and do tasks in the correct order to avoid repeating.
That was a mamoth job, you have turned a small mudhole into a great looking wildlife pond. Well done. should look fantastic next Spring when all the new growth comes out.
There was a point about half way through where it looked like we were going to make a film set for the battle of the Somme. With the drainage ditch being so clogged up, the bottom half of the garden was ultra boggy. Apart from the last couple of days, the work was done in dry weather and I shudder to think how muddy it would have been to work in wet conditions.
I was really pleased with the outcome of this pond as now it has masses of potential for attracting wildlife and keeping them there.
what size of liner was that? you should show a follow up video after the vegetation grows in....nice pond btw...very natural
