@IAmClearlyTheBest I wouldn't mind doing that, as I enjoyed it as a kid. But looking back, it was terrible, though I would still have fun with it just for laughs.
i actuallly liked this game for both the music and the edutainment value....its the only edutainment game i liked to play.....i'd play right ot the end of the game.....then the last level...just go through all the photos and admire em....it sounds strange but really, they did a good job of painting all those famous landmarks with the sprites, they were incredably detailed, so that even if i could never visit any of those places myself...i could still admire all the landmarks from this game. :P
I think a lot of people like this game for it's music.
There could've been more levels and more boss battles. Hell there were more than 15 cities on the World Atlas. Too bad you couldn't go to them all and collect artifacts.
Hell, Super Mario World has like 96 levels if I recall. They could've done that with this game.
Mario is Missing was not intended to be fun. Sure the game developers hoped children playing the game would find it fun, but its primary purpose was to educate. This is probably the reason why a majority of the people who have reviewed this game gave it such a bad review-- they were evaluating the enjoyability of a game that really isn't meant to grab your attention.
@Godzillaman I didn't like it, it bored me very fast and the "educational" parts were even more boring and tedious. I'm playing a game to have fun, not to do history homework.
But yes, it does have some amazing music despite being "Homework: The Videogame".
I love this song too. It brings back memories of my childhood. It's a shame not many people realize that this game wasn't as bad as people bring it out to be.
I know. Maybe they were just impatient. Mario's Time Machine and the NES version of MiM were the shitty games. Thankfully I have played neither of them. And just like you, this brings back childhood memories for myself.
Dude, this is my MOST hated game I can think of... its more scaring then the putrid E.T on the Atari 2600 or Ghost Busters on the NES. This game was fuckin shit when I played it on the SNES... I can state soo many vald reasons I could take an entire year tell how bad the NES/PC/and my MOST HAAAAAAATED the SNES version. Ask me why... I will tell you.
You got to be kidding man. Please don't compare E.T. to this game. There's a reason why this game wasn't the one of the two whose (millions of) copies were dumped in that landfill in New Mexico. The music is arguably the best part (IMO) and the gameplay wasn't as terrible as you make it seem.
Yeah I hate everything about it! Its a freakin mockery of Mario! Why have an edicational game? I mean about 80% of the edicational VG library is NOT fun! This is a reaaaaaally stupid game I like the story a little, but it does NOT mix with any thing of the gameplay why walk around cities and talk to people!? Its horrid, it scared my childhood, and after seeing how bad it is... I took my copy and shot the fuckin thing, then lit it on fire.
Then I took the burnt cartrige and threw it up in the air then sliced it in half... Anyways... I am just saying I. DO. NOT. LIKE. This game at all... I hate everything about it! The only thing thats fun is the fact that you can still atleast jump on things like they didn't take EVERYthing out of a Mario game... but even that isn't fun, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T DIE! Its ridiculous and a flat out mockery of Super Mario!
@IAmClearlyTheBest I wouldn't mind doing that, as I enjoyed it as a kid. But looking back, it was terrible, though I would still have fun with it just for laughs.

Lol, this was by far my favorite track in the game. I used to play until I got to Sydney, and just leave the game running all day long.

Same with me...I mean, I didn't really mind the game that much, despite many others saying otherwise.
