I notice that a lot of people forget to "turn off the lights" inside the nostrils, eye sockets, mouth, etc, in other words, anywhere there shouldn't be light.

most likely the eyelashes.... didnt take the time to do them right, because each time you edit the mesh, it distorts it... saving it for last.

What are your settings on the R,B,G colors for the skin?

I used colorband on the skin, and sss. so there are a ton of colors to take into account.
