I would have to disagree on the "never see them as generals. Just in my area I played a Sharuum deck, my friends had a Rafiq, Kresh, and a Doran deck, and we met up with some new guys who had an Ulamog, Progenitus, and Teferi. To be honest I found it kind of funny all of those were picked in the set.

Get out from in front of the camera and start making segments with depth and very relevant information.
I've always thought of the two-player cycle of turns in Magic to be night and day. I would use the analogy in teaching new players if it didn't sound so much like an excerpt from a bizarre pre-school lecture:
"See, when you Untap your creatures, they're ready for a new day. But first they need to brush their teeth and get dressed in the Upkeep step...." etc.
What are you talking about people don't use these as commanders...? Sharum, Kiki-Jiki, Kresh, and Rafiq are bombs. Oona and Captain Sisay are also pretty solid.

hey u know what i think is that they should reprint sharkan vos with 2 plus abiltys and one 0 ablity that makes him a 8/7 dragon with flying thats still a planswalker and after innastrand and the other one they should make a new eldrazi epansion cos they diddent finish it
People do use Progenitus as their commander, I've seen a deck using him in fact, it was pretty brutal the other 3 decks didn't seem like they stood a chance.
@Zspear234 Sure. Constructed decks are 60 card minimum, w 15 card sideboards. You play a 3 game set for a Match (player who wins 2 games wins the match); During Games 2 & 3, you may switch out any 15 cards with the cards in your sideboard. There are also cards that can fetch cards from sideboards to your hand, like Burning Wish (the entire Wish cycle, in fact). In limited, you have a 40 card minimum deck, and every card you don't use (drafting or sealed) is your sideboard and can be subbed in.
About Spawnsire of Ulamog. Can he grab all eldrazi out of your sideboard and put then into play or only exiled cards(because they changed "remove from game" to "exile")
@geck1204 the thing you gotta think of is that commander is built more for multiplayer games. rafiq would still be a decent commander in that situation but not nearly as good
@Pringlesman then why even bother coming out with these anymore? WotC needs to either A) Allow FTV to print reserve list cards again, within reason, or B) CHANGE THE REPRINT POLICY. There are many cards that really shouldn't be on the list. I understand the Power 9, Bazaar, Library, etc., but why the dual lands? Why put legacy staples on the reserve list? The reserve list is slowly killing a format because of the guarantee that the cards you need to play the format wont be reprinted

Kresh is super popular commander, progenitus has a decent following also, kiki-jikki while not a commander is in every commander deck that uses red almost all of the others are popular in commander decks that use their color and the 2 # kingdom reprints are impossible to find at reasonable prices due to short supply and Sun Quan is stupid powerful and i expect to be banned at least as a general if not altogether.
@IslandLimer Totally agree. Bring back flip cards. Either have the flip happen during your upkeep, OR for some have another condition, like when it's dealt damage, or when you lose life, etc. I love the idea of a common creature for G, that flips between a 1/1 human and a 2/2 wolf during your upkeeps. That would be sweet, ESPECIALLY if they have an enchantment like Tempered Steel called "Full Moon" where Wolf creatures you control get +2/+2.
Question - I haven't played magic in about 10 years, the last set I bought cards from was odyssey. I want to get back into paper magic... what's a good way to start? The cards are so much more powerful than they were 10 years ago. I was thinking of getting the 2012 Event deck illusionary might, bc blue has always been my favorite, and that seems like a good deck to build off of...
@royalal I found that the best way to get back into the game is to go buy the "Deck Builders Toolkit." It comes in a card box with some nice artwork on the outside, a BUNCH of randomly sorted T2 common/uncommons, a ton of basic lands, and 3 booster packs from the current core set and expansion block. You should be able to make about about 2-3 decks out of it and still have quite a few cards leftover. Its only $20 which is far better than blowing $15 for a single deck that you only get 2 colors.
Hey hey hey, hold the phone now. Doran is my commander general. He's fair. Dropping a 5/5 on turn 2 is okay. :P and really, the WGB wedge that he fills is loaded with creatures that can abuse the crap out of his powers. :)
FTV: Legends is VERY disappointing. Albeit its obvious that Legendary creatures would be in this, but... what about other legendary permanents? I know the Jitte was in FTV: Relics, so it makes sense not to have it this. I think it would have been great to have cards like Gaea's Cradle or Tolarian Academy, stuff that's worth enough to be money, but not enough to be aparently "too expensive".
If they want more casual favorites, how about Sliver Queen? Give me Cradle, Academy, and Queen and Im sold

Mox Diamond, Karn, and Memory Jar are all on the Reserve List, and they got printed in FTV: Relics. Isn't that whole point of "From the Vault"? They choose a couple of cards on the list to get a limited reprinting in a super-special-shiny style, so that we drool and empty our wallets for glittering awesome. I look at FTV: Legends and my mouth is dry. Sad...
@wittw after the debacle with printing Phyrexian Negator (a reserve list card) in Phyrexian vs Coalition Wotc announced that special promos and box sets like this would no longer be a safe haven for reprinting reserve list cards. So once again the reserve list screws us.

I suspect that they didn't include the portal card because it has a keyword that isn't in current use and an ability with very wierd timing. Before you attack is a strange trigger, and would likely be confusing. But horsemanship... frankly I don't even remember what that does right now. I doubt that decision had anything to do with money, but had a lot more to do with the design of the card itself.
I've seen half of those Legends played as Generals. Oona is probably the best mill general. Played against Teferi yesterday (annoying). Captain Sisay is a fantastic general. Sharuum is played in Artifact combo decks. Kiki-Jiki rocks the red agro enters the battlefield trigger guys. Omnath fuels a big green mana deck. Doran makes a neat touhness and toolbox deck. Kresh is a one man army with a deck focused on killing creatures left and right. And Sun Quan is going to be a terror.

Werewolves could be flip cards, like those Kamigawa legends. At the beginning of your upkeep, flip the werewolf. You play it as a human.

I agree that FTV:L was disapointed. There just isn't a huge draw to buy this product.

how can '' this is too expensive'' be an argument for wizard, it's not as if they were selling the cards, they sell boosters, if it was up up to me i'd cut the middleman ( dealers ) and sell them directly to players, then the argument would be plausible
