Of all the guitar players who shred during this era, it was Chet who made me say "what the hell is he doing?" Everyone else, given time and practice, I could figure out but this guy took me to the shed and beat my ass. It was tough copping his licks because he was so stylish. It just wasn't a crapload of scales like so many others of the era.
Chet is his own man. I have followed him for years. Some of his stuff reminds me of Randy and Jake. More of the crazy radical note riffs, rather than technique or sound. Just the seamless sort of, out-of-order maniacal F*t upness. Chet rocks.
We are talking about a male singer in a monster sex rock band ; WWIII and a female singer in a classic metal band; Hellion, so it is pointless to try to compare the two musical styles and singers. Mandy Lion was, is and always will be way ahead of his time. The world needs to catch up to him to really appreciate his complete overall talent. Ann Boleyn was also ahead of her time and I've not seen any female metal singer come close to her talent. I was honored to play with them.

Believe me if I could convince him to hit the stage again I would. Chet is a phenom on guitar, an awesome performer, true gentleman and a great friend.
I was at that show. Chet Tampons and the other dude from Hellion was playing with Mandy Lions. Everybody was just standing there looking at eachother and going what the fuck? Everybody expected Anne Boleyn to come out. But she didn't. Then when it was really uncomfortable, Chet Tampons started doing the same solo that he did in Hellion like he thought that would make the crowd happy or something.
Chet Tampons is a fucking great guitarist. But this was one of his worst bands.
Nobody was "waiting" for Ann to come out. WWIII was selling out shows everywhere they played. Broke the Van Halen record at Gazzaris. The solo Chet is doing here was a part of every single WWIII show. Anyone who was around at that time remembers that.
Chet Thomphson and Alex Campbell joined WWIII for a reason. Because they knew what a lethal combination it was. This band was ahead of its time as was Chet's playing. It is a shame Chet stopped playing. One of the best.
For those who believe what this clown here is saying consider this...
A concert starts being promoted 6 to 8 weeks before showtime.
That means that all flyers, radio ads, TV ads and print media will announce a WWIII concert. That means that if you saw a WWIII add, bought a WWIII ticket, went to a WWIII concert, watched the WWIII show until half time, which is where Chet always did his solo and you were still searching for Ann from a band name Hellion... Then you are a no nonsense idiot.
And as you can tell by the people screaming and enjoying themselves there was no awkward moment anywhere to be found other than the brain fart of this mouth breather here who was probably pissed because his girlfriend was blowing a member of the band during Chet's solo.
The guitar legend you are looking at is Chet Thompson...
In conclusion... This guy can't even spell the name of the man he is talking about...
He saw a WWIII advertisement, bought a WWIII ticket, went to a WWIII show, watched 30 minutes of a WWIII performance, thought he was at a Hellion show featuring a guitarist by the name of Chet Tampons????
