I love my rezound. I love the way HTC sets up their phones. But ONE naggy problem I'm having is that when most of the time when I recieve texts on my rezound it doesnt go off until I wake the phone. I've run multiple tests on this. I've done a factory reset, toggled my power and auto sync setting, my sleep mores, my fast boot. And, it's about 75% of the time when I have to wake the phone to see my notifications and they all coem plowing in at once. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, fix?
@TheRazrGuy Honestly, I like the 720p display on the Rezound so much that in my opinion it is a better display than the DROID RAZR's. You can certainly have a different opinion, however.
Any PHONE I GET WILL HAVE ITS STOCK LAUNCHER REPLACED WITH THE LIQUID SMOOTH LauncherPro so I tested the store model REZOUND AT ZERIZON with the laucherpro 3D app drawer n it was ultra choppy ... Can u tell me if its due to the higher resolution screen or what
Hey Bob, as always, thank you for the great reviews. Well, the wife had a chance to play with the Rezound, the Razr Maxx and the new Droid4 and she picked.......the Rezound. She too liked the 'look & feel' of the HTC, loved the camera (pic's look very sharp), the way it felt in her hand. Don't get me wrong, the Maxx has that awesome battery and the D4 slide but overall, she really likes how the Rezound looks plus that screen resolution was very sharp (tested it on Netflix). The razr is just slim and the nexus just has ics android 4 but all new phones will get ics so really rezound looks like the best deal. Nexus camera sucks
I currently have the Galaxy Nexus. I am pretty sure I am going to return it because of it's crappy signal strength. Now that I'm returning it, I am stuck between the Rezound and the Razr. To me the rezound is more for entertainment with is nice display for movies and beats for music. Where the razr is more for the working man. It's built with a metal frame, kavlar rear cover and gorilla glass for the screen. Both phones are awesome, I guess it depends on you want to use them for. I going with the razr maxx myself.
Photo comparison is complete BS on this match. Photos were taken at 2 different times of the day while the subjects were wearing different clothing. OF COURSE the coat rack in the razr's pic would be more in focus as it was closer and more in the frame. Why not use the same control measures? Chose a room that has no windows same lighting and take the photos of the subjects wearing the same clothing??? If you're going to be an authority be fair about it plese.
@jeminia21 I work in an office with minimal tools, so it's not possible to scientifically test the cameras. I try to duplicate shots within reason, and the "models" in these photos are co-workers who only slightly tolerate my requests to pose. On the other hand, I've had more than 1,000 photos published in real magazines and newspapers, so I know something about photography. I try to convey that knowledge in these videos.
which phone has a better battery life? the rezound or the razr?
i have the razr now, with 4g turned off, no gps, lowest brightness, and it wont even last me the entire day. do you think the rezound with an additional battery will be better? thanks.
@probowl2 If you get a spare battery for the Rezound, it will easily make it through the day. There is also an extended battery available for it. Of course, the new DROID RAZR Maxx is now out and it has a huge battery that should easily last you for a day.
Had my mind set on the Rezound for my first smartphone... then they got the Droid Razr 16g for the same price.. had me in a toss up. but for all the same reasons i think im going to get the Rezound. thanks for your input Bob! its great to have a non bias opinion on electronics.
@glk9910 If you're on Verizon, the Rezound is my preference, although there's much to be said for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. If you can wait for a phone, there will be MANY excellent phones before the new iPhone appears, so your choice is not really "Rezound now or iPhone later?"

Razr is better. Better options (MotoCast and Smart Action) . And Rezound screen is amazing until its under sunlight. All in all Razr better ....thats why I returned my HTC for it

I've been thinking about running a battery test on the Rezound, using the AnTuTu benchmark app. That might be interesting for a future video. Unfortunately, there's no easy way for me to get the extended battery.

That said, the DROID RAZR is a very nice phone. It's just that one had to be the winner.
@wirefly Everyone has an opinion and there is a time and place for it. However what you fail to realize apparently is the difference between an objective and subjective outlook. Objective is analyzing something based purely on facts and putting personal views aside whereas subjective is more about perspective and preference. Most professional reviewers know the difference and understand that a review should always be done objectively.

i think the super amoled looks better even though it has a lower resolution. i used to have an LCD phone and i couldn't seen anything in the sunlight but the super amoled was more visible to me.

@koochiebear77 If you already have a Verizon contract, you will either have to get a new Verizon account to get that price, or do a contract upgrade. However, you pretty much need to be finished with your existing 2-year contract. Give Wirefly a call to discuss and get all the right information.
Verizon seems to be really Trying to push RAZR Sales; it was really disappointing to see them Push me away from all other phones and throw "lemon" or the "1 exception" claims on them, almost as if they have way to much in stock and have to sell them before the company takes a hit. (Work in phone sales just not verizon :P) So perhaps the Razr isn't selling to well....hmm. IMO The Nexus/Rez/Razr Are all equivalent phones. Only real differences in flavors. Pure ICS, Sense, Motoblur, and screens.
@Dredghill *Working with phones; new Flagship devices releasing 3-5 months of eachother are normally all alike with small differences such as minor Processor increases, different screen technologies, and if you're lucky an updated version of Android. There's always a new one around the corner; and by the time the perfect one comes out you'll be in your grave. Whichever you choose you'll most certainly be happy with. Just pick the main things YOU Need/Prefer over others that you'd use the most^^

@jgw3497 The DROID RAZR definitely "doesn't suck" but maybe I think that the Rezound is better. In my opinion. The Rezound has a higher-resolution display, iBeats earphones and a removable battery, among other features that I prefer. I like the RAZR -- but I like the Rezound more.
@wirefly The Razr has some nice options in it; but in a mindset of having to Have this phone for 2 years; I think people will be much more satisfied with the rezound than the Razr. Amoled is nice; but it isn't as True to Life and gives white's a more blue-ish hue. Id rather watch a video as it was intended than super high contrast imo. Although i'm not sure which fair's better in direct sunlight; where LCD's tend to have better than the older gen amoled displays. Feature Preferences. :P
@ bob of wirefly i have the samsung epic 4g the first epic and sprint service is not all that where im at im paying for 4g and dont have 4g where im at i also work out of town where my phone roams with sprint service and verizon basically has the best signal in the country im talking i work in a one stop light town
@Jmelpegues If you want the same price if you're paying on a single line; Verizon has the stratosphere which is Identical to the Samsung Epic in all ways besides it has True 4g(LTE) and than a higher Resolution Front facing camera. (and comes pre-installed with Gingerbread)
Always nice to have the option of pulling out the battery on any smartphone or laptop. Why Motorola went with non removable battery was a bad choice, unless you want to monitor people 24/7. with inclosed battery you will always be plug into the matrix.
Htc Rezound, better screen, removable battery, Sense 3.5, and the phone will still be working 2 years from now. Motorola Razr, nice attempt you're getting better, but no HTC quite yet kiddies.

This smack down was nothing more than just opinion and not what either phone can do. One thing i do know the picture and video quality on the rezound will be better motorola camera's suck. I got my razr comming from being on of the #30daysofrazr i will just use my thunderbolt as a camera and video recorder and for my mp3 player since its rooted with working beats audio in the custom rom

@Jmelpegues There's no way for me to answer your question, as a lot depends on the service you get from Verizon and Sprint, and whether you need a new phone. If you have the Epic 4G Touch and excellent Sprint service, I wouldn't switch. But you might see things differently.

I ges it all boils down to screens in my head well theres a 540 by 960 reselution also a super amoled vs a full 720p screen whitch is really nice in my oppinion the razers screen is better think about it super amoled is the best screen tecnology with desent res but pure res is good so i would say amoled is better becuse of the bright vibrent best colar and contrast
the razr can be rooted and have free wifi the rezound cant and wont be rooted until ics comes out the rezound is a better phone but because it cant be permanently rooted ill go with the razr

I'm so glad I found this video! I am eligible to get a new phone soon and i was debating for a while on what phone to get. I recently went to Verizon online to look at phones and prices and I was comparing a few and stumbled across these. I was reading comments and reviews and they had the same rating and everything! I just made up my mind. Thank you for making videos such as this for the indecisive such as me.
You like that the Rezound has a flip clock and you don't have to flip back to the main homepage, the Razr does that too. You just have to customize it. Play around or study the Damn phones before doing these videos. You gave points to the rezound for stupid reasons. Get a life. Droid Razr all the way.

i think the super amoled looks better even though it has a lower resolution. i used to have an LCD phone and i couldn't seen anything in the sunlight but the super amoled was more visible to me.

@koochiebear77 If you already have a Verizon contract, you will either have to get a new Verizon account to get that price, or do a contract upgrade. However, you pretty much need to be finished with your existing 2-year contract. Give Wirefly a call to discuss and get all the right information.

Verizon seems to be really Trying to push RAZR Sales; it was really disappointing to see them Push me away from all other phones and throw "lemon" or the "1 exception" claims on them, almost as if they have way to much in stock and have to sell them before the company takes a hit. (Work in phone sales just not verizon :P) So perhaps the Razr isn't selling to well....hmm. IMO The Nexus/Rez/Razr Are all equivalent phones. Only real differences in flavors. Pure ICS, Sense, Motoblur, and screens.

@Dredghill *Working with phones; new Flagship devices releasing 3-5 months of eachother are normally all alike with small differences such as minor Processor increases, different screen technologies, and if you're lucky an updated version of Android. There's always a new one around the corner; and by the time the perfect one comes out you'll be in your grave. Whichever you choose you'll most certainly be happy with. Just pick the main things YOU Need/Prefer over others that you'd use the most^^

@jgw3497 The DROID RAZR definitely "doesn't suck" but maybe I think that the Rezound is better. In my opinion. The Rezound has a higher-resolution display, iBeats earphones and a removable battery, among other features that I prefer. I like the RAZR -- but I like the Rezound more.

@wirefly The Razr has some nice options in it; but in a mindset of having to Have this phone for 2 years; I think people will be much more satisfied with the rezound than the Razr. Amoled is nice; but it isn't as True to Life and gives white's a more blue-ish hue. Id rather watch a video as it was intended than super high contrast imo. Although i'm not sure which fair's better in direct sunlight; where LCD's tend to have better than the older gen amoled displays. Feature Preferences. :P

@ bob of wirefly i have the samsung epic 4g the first epic and sprint service is not all that where im at im paying for 4g and dont have 4g where im at i also work out of town where my phone roams with sprint service and verizon basically has the best signal in the country im talking i work in a one stop light town

@Jmelpegues If you want the same price if you're paying on a single line; Verizon has the stratosphere which is Identical to the Samsung Epic in all ways besides it has True 4g(LTE) and than a higher Resolution Front facing camera. (and comes pre-installed with Gingerbread)

Always nice to have the option of pulling out the battery on any smartphone or laptop. Why Motorola went with non removable battery was a bad choice, unless you want to monitor people 24/7. with inclosed battery you will always be plug into the matrix.

This smack down was nothing more than just opinion and not what either phone can do. One thing i do know the picture and video quality on the rezound will be better motorola camera's suck. I got my razr comming from being on of the #30daysofrazr i will just use my thunderbolt as a camera and video recorder and for my mp3 player since its rooted with working beats audio in the custom rom

@Jmelpegues There's no way for me to answer your question, as a lot depends on the service you get from Verizon and Sprint, and whether you need a new phone. If you have the Epic 4G Touch and excellent Sprint service, I wouldn't switch. But you might see things differently.

I ges it all boils down to screens in my head well theres a 540 by 960 reselution also a super amoled vs a full 720p screen whitch is really nice in my oppinion the razers screen is better think about it super amoled is the best screen tecnology with desent res but pure res is good so i would say amoled is better becuse of the bright vibrent best colar and contrast

I'm so glad I found this video! I am eligible to get a new phone soon and i was debating for a while on what phone to get. I recently went to Verizon online to look at phones and prices and I was comparing a few and stumbled across these. I was reading comments and reviews and they had the same rating and everything! You like that the Rezound has a flip clock and you don't have to flip back to the main homepage, the Razr does that too. You just have to customize it. Play around or study the Damn phones before doing these videos. You gave points to the rezound for stupid reasons. Get a life. Droid Razr all the way.
