Study Abroad in Japan! (Part 2)

Does anyone know about how old you have to be to study abroad. like you do have to be 16 or something or can u go if ur 7th grade and your 12 or 13? I really want to go :)))

wow you had to send your Kansai Gaidai a million pages and passport pictures by yourself :( that sucks my university study abroad office took care of all the mailing and stuff etc.

@B4IRUTUARU16 Honestly... I didnt like the school I picked, but my trip to Japan was itself amazing and the location of the school I went to was really good. The program itself I didnt really like, but i had a bit of a hard time.

@B4IRUTUARU16 You know when you study abroad you hope your classes are easy so you can enjoy traveling. Well at Kansai Gaidai your classes are hard and the teachers can be strict especially for the Japanese classes. However I did like 2 of my classes alot :) but i should have taken less credits.The thing i hate the most is that there are WAYYY to many foreign students. People get clicky and hang out with people from their countries. Its annoying.

I was told that all you need is a 3.0 to go to Kansai Gaidai. Or maybe that is the requirement for UAlbany.

Yep your right! I have a 3.2 average. However, it also says that you need to have a background in Japanese Studies and some Language skills. This school is the hardest to get accepted into, since the other 2 programs require a 2.5 and no background in anything or language skills.

I guess that is the difference between our schools. My uni has the following conditions that have to be met.

1. Gen Ed. requirements need to be completed.

2. Junior ranking (although some seniors do go, and exceptional sophomores)

3. 3.0 GPA

4. 1 year or more of Japanese preferred but not mandatory since classes are taught in English.

Ultimately, this works out well for me since I am a Japanese Studies major. Good luck with everything.

awesome. yeah the program is through suny albany. it didn't say i needed that other stuff, but i have pretty much everything you listed there except for that i need one or two more Gen Eds (my school has alot!!)

Congratulations on finishing the applications. I hope you are accepted by all three schools. Getting finished the day before the deadline is good practice for when you graduate and go to work. Hurry up and wait for a response is also normal. Take it easy on the candy and the condoms.

Well you really do deserve to get in to at least one of those schools, but I'm just sick of seeing people so undeserving getting into schools which they sooo don't desereve getting into.
