  • Eres muy buen músico. Y muy buen maestro.... con tu ayuda se puede aprender mucho. Gracias.

  • You are amazing.

I don't even know if you will respond to this, but I have an Epiphone Les Paul and I can't quite get the same sound, and my strings feel really stiff when I try to bend. This is the only guitar I have that does that! But yet my best sounding one. Could you help me? Thanks

  • @MasonGuitarGuy Thanks for the kind words :) Strings too stiff: what gauge are they? Maybe a lower gauge would help? Also, it's a Gibson scale, therefore shorter than a Fender scale, which may account for the difference in feel? Be well :)

  • @ThreeChordGuitar

Well I just bought a strat, and I was playing it a half step down one day ,and it sounded much better

And my strings were 11 gauge.. I hate them..

  • Very cool, I learned another one from you that I've spent a lot of time playing and incorporating into other blues arrangements. You need to show the turnaround.

  • @ak474orM16 He plays quite a fancy turn around huh? I think even any basic turn around would work.. And just embelish it alot! Just like he has done! He rocks!

  • i agree with minning arround, we´ll thak you if you put the camera in that position.

  • lolololololol Hi Mr. Clean but ya your a good teacher.

  • Thank you so much!! There are many lessons out there but in most of them you don't understand anything because the guy just plays and says sometimes a few words about what he does. But you really describe it very well and also play the thing you're talking about several times, this really helps, thank you!!

  • My favorite John Lee song - thanks for posting this. It was very helpful for a beginner like me!

  • Because I'm French-Canadien

  • He sounds French-Canadian-

  • He's not Canadian... but he most assuredly is French. 8 million French Canadians in the world, 60+ million French people... how's the Canadian angle coming up first? :)

  • Mojo

  • Thanks for the very kind words. I certainly hope that my videos can be of assistance :)

  • Nice Guitar. What type of tone and volume pots are used with the TV Jones pickup. are they 250k or 500k.

  • This guitar has 250k pots.

  • Thanks for this superbly clear lesson. You made me want to pull out the Telecaster. Yours looks and sound fantastic! Thanks again.

  • You, sir, made my day :)

  • this guitar looks and sounds great!!

  • Muito boooooom mesmo

  • Fingering and G-strings lol.. I'm such a child...

  • hey, can you explain what notes are in the second riff (4:50 to 5:00) because the video kinda jumps around so I can't make out what you are saying!

  • at 6:50 Mojo explains the riff again.

  • Good job guy!!!

can you tell me how to play a ZZ top blues?

  • great job!!! thanks from brazil.

  • very good! excelent classes...thanks from brazil.

  • great riff! however, just for everyone's clarification - when you talk about the second part of the riff, starting on the open E chord, the "nothing" you speak of (unfretted) is really just a G chord. A G5 chord, to be exact. Sometimes it sounds good to play a low g in the bass, plus all that "nothing."

  • Whats the best guitar to start with, but also play this song on it? :D

Makes fun watching you enjoying you this awesome song just as much as i do

  • could you explain how to do that part at about 2:05, on the top two strings before going back into the boom boom riff please? that sounds awesome!

+ awesome vid dude! easy to follow, and explains everyghing!

  • Ive got John Lee Hooker's autograph on my Strat's pickguard, Passed down through a generation or two.

Anyways, Great vid, I'm having fun playing this riff.

  • Yea it is in standard tuning EADGBE

  • this is standard tuning right?

    thanks

  • awesome buddy. thanx!!!

  • fantastic

  • have you seen this video (you probably have) video of hooker playing boom boom watch?v=rOyj4ciJk34. He totally throws the idea of timing and chord progressions to the wind, it's a refreshing change from all the strict twelve bar you hear around everywhere today.

  • ho ho ho ho!

  • is that a crook guitar with a tv jones PU?

  • it most certainly is :)

She's been my #1 since I got her. Great, great guitar.

  • thanks bro!!!! its funny. im startin to realize that most of the stuff i listen to is just regurgitated high power blues!!!! thanx again!!!! cheers n beers!!!!
