Fuck the Corporate media and FUCK YOU Semiok45. Nobody I saw behaved in a manner that justified any action by the police. We have the right to GATHER in a public place and protest. again, I say: Fuck You.

Peaceful, intelligent protesters gather to voice opinion. Idiots show up and act like idiots.
Everyone gets worked up, including cops who are there to maintain order. Cops give lawful order for EVERYONE to clear out (because it's impossible to control just the idiots). Peaceful, yet clueless protester (that's most of you) stays and wonders why he has to move. Peaceful, yet defiant protester ignores orders, stays, gets pepper sprayed. Peaceful, yet whiny protester posts video on YouTube.
The problem with your logic is that the "lawfull" orders to dismiss are not for safety reasons but to quiet the protesters because the police disagree with thier position..
Police don't care about the positions or opinions of protestors half the time they might even agree with them. Police are mandated to do a job. If they order a protest to disperse it's because someone higher up told them to. Whether that was for good reason or not varies depeneding on the protest and the police departments (or other agencies) involved.
lol well hopefully they got a lot of money, then i think its worth gettin a little roughed up =P whens the next rally i can make huge signs with voice recordings attached and everything
You'v got rabid anti-police wackos on one side who'd screeam police brutality even if protesters were shooting police, a police force who are increasingly savy about how to get away with brutal treatment of citizens without it getting caught on camera on another and less than half a dozen corporation who own most media outlets throughout the country.
"rabid anti-police wackos"? Never met one. Police shouldn't even show up at these things. There are THOUSANDS of miles between "protest" and "riot". Police presence usually creates the latter.
"shooting police"? During a protest? Hell, in MOST footage of police brutality you'll see an appalled and completely shocked crowd STILL leaving the offending police officer alone.
Hyperbole, sorry, but you know what I mean. I know police tend to lump every protester into the same category as the vioent minority who usually aren't interested in protesting anything. Then again some protesters assume the worst about police and start yelling "pig" the second they show up.
What if the poice didn't show up and someone marching with the protest did something stupid? Look at WTO protests and you'll see how a legitimate protest can get hijacked by people who don't represent the cause, but who cause damage (and get all the media coverage). Or if another group held a counter-protest(ex: Pro-Isreal/Pro-Hezbollah demonstrations) at the same time. If police just stayed away, everything MIGHT be peaceful. But if not, people would say, "Where the f*&% were the police?!"
Well it's a pretty narrow "what if". I'd rather play the "on average" game that would reduce the number of beatings and people locked in small rooms away from family and friends, and that would mean keeping the police out of it.
Besides, if you look at Caledonia... usually these "violent minority" types are plants bussed in to cause trouble. That's standard practice by the B of ATF, and they've been busy spreading that wisdom up in Canada and anywhere else that will listen. Joy joy...
This video had a big impact on me when I first saw it. Thanks for putting it up!

Great video. Real stormtroopers, there.
I wonder if this has forced any reaction from the local media, being as how it makes the local tv reporter ought to be such total lying sack.

This is very upsetting. I'm literally sick to my stomach. Those police should be in prison, not just paying out money in a lawsuit.
