chij originated from chij catholic church, during world war II, near waterloo street in singapore, it served as a 'home and school' for the orphans, victims, poor girls, who were abandoned, along with the thousand hands guan im temple that served 'medicine and food' for the war victims..

Wow. Im sorry to say this, but I've been talking to my friends and we all prefer the old building to this one. Even the Thomson one was better.

A lot of my friends dont go back and visit because there's no more IJ feel to it. To put it simply, we hate this building. We raise so much money for it, year after year, fund raisers and stuff and they came up with this building? A lot of us expected more.

Okay, I know how you feel because I feel the same too. But consider the girls who will be spnding 10 years of their education in this new school building. When they return after graduation they will inevitably feel something for it because it's THEIR IJ. We don't because we've hardly/not spent our time there and we hold no memories of that place so we "hate" it because it's not OUR IJ.
