@champions2009908 because you get more features with the nextel/sprint blackberry like PTT then you do with the boost blackberry plus it's $10.00 cheaper a month to do it this way.

@TheYoungNino. The fact that the phone is unlocked doesn't matter. Boost has a new system and they have totally shut down "unauthorized" phones. If the phone does not have a certain MEID number, their system won't allow it. Sometimes, if you had a personal connect with someone in the company, the representative could over-ride the system and activate the phone. Boost has stopped this and there is no way for anyone to override the locked system.

@Betuwontblitz They really started to mandate only boost phones during the year 2010. Before, if you had a inside boost contact, you could have a boost agent do a work around for you. But, now, even the agents can't crack the system. If the number of the MEID does not match the boost system, there is no way to get yourself in. I had the clutch before, too. I now have the blackberry. Expensive, but better than wasting money on a phone they won't accept. I tried to get a palm treo on the system.

I don't know about the "flash" part. But you cannot use the Nextel BB on the Boost network by just activating it through customer service or online. The phone has to have a certain MEID number to be activated. If this is some sort of "work around" I don't know if it will work. But if you buy the Nextel version and try 'to activate it-- it won't happen. Boost has shut it down. They want the use of their phones ONLY.

@perezraoul17 the only way to get past the password is to either 1 remember it or 2 put the password in wrong 10 times where the blackberry will reset and return to the factory default....... Everything will be erased including aplications settings anything stored on the blackberry itself. Your memory card and sim card will be fine.

@waltergq in order to make facebook works with the blackberry flashed to boost you must add a data plan it means the 60 dlls plan if u does not have that data plan facebook won't work..

@waltergq i know that and it sucks but if u want facebook or messenger to work u need the plan for blackberry with boost i know it works with the nextel unlocked also u can use the blackberry messenger with that data plan..

@waltergq u just have to update your montly plan to one for 60 dlls u can do that online in the boost mobile page and when u do that update ur handset to the one u already have.. hope it works for you :)

hey dud also let know that when you unblock an blackberry and you wanna used on boost it may not work or it may work adn if doesnt work boost is not responsable and they wont help you if you have any issues with the unblock blackberry why cose it has heppen to me on i started very good with the black but i didnt messages neither web sometimes calls and walkie , so i better went to the original blackberry from boost

@lovedfriend the boost reps are train to say that because they can sell boost bb phones. The thing you need to understand is if you want to use a nextel bb, you can by purchasing a sim card from boost for $50 per month. Or if you stay with nextel it will cost u $100+. Boost will never admit this. You can save slot of money if u get the nextel bb and use boost

now that depends on how u get the phone. i got mines off ebay. and this is not the CDMA version of boostberry. Google maps works and sprint navigation. as long as u have an active acount on that service, cus i thinki its required and a working data plan then yes u can use sprint navigation. but google maps is sufficient for me
