The song is "Better With You There" by Dan and Rich Reising, credits are at the end. A Father/Son team who wrote, performed, and produced the song. Sweetheart guys too. And they love their dogs.

@nancyschutt that's very kind of you. It's a week tomorrow. This would have been her last night last week, I guess I was putting it off and hoping she'd get better, but last Tuesday she was up all night, panting and looking very distressed. She couldn't cope any more and I didn't want her to be drugged with too much painkiller all the time. Very sad - but I guess the responsibility you take on with a pet. Thanks so much though. Sorry it upset you.

Yesterday Nov. 1st I was at a friends down from my house, All a sudden I felt sick and figured I should go home. I got back to see my mom getting ready to leave, she said she was taking our dog max to the animal clinic. He was unable to stand and hasnt been eating so we had to lift him into the car. Later not even after 5min in the waiting room the vet came out and said he wasnt breathing but his heart was still beating...he said he was passing. R.I.P Max Nov.1 8:20pm. Your were a great dog.

Beautiful video and beautiful song. That's what I was looking for: a country song about loving your pet that was uplifting. I lost my pet a year and a half ago and I still cry when I about him (he was a budgie, but I can still relate to this song). "Life was so much better with you there". So true.

Thank you! Song was written by Rich and Dan Reisling, a father/son team. It still brings tears to my eyes, for the dogs that have moved along, and the one who eventually will. And for how dogs teach us about accepting how the world works, that we eventually do lose everything we love. And life continues.

I love this song and it made me cry and my dogs still here! i cant imagine life without him he is like my child. Hey so glad youdivine intervention that I hooked up with Nancy as the 2 projects were done completely separately. We then just rearranged her pics in a way that went with the story of the song...and it surely did turn out nicely from all the comments I have received. We recently lost one of our own dogs Bailey a Jack Russell from an injury she sustained by being stomped by a deer. It is never easy to go thru this stuff no matter how many times you have been thru it. Thanks RR

I am so sorry for your loss. Truly. I know how devastating it is. When my dog died it took a week to become functional again, the grief was so consuming. Then it started to change, and eventually became pure appreciation and gratitude for the time I had with my wonderful friend. It does get better. But your note has brought tears to my eyes again.
