( continued )so what we have to do with the m3 is change the final drive ratio from 3.23 to 3.64. and also fit lightweight flywheel, remove aircon, etc , better intake system etc etc, so what we have is a car that is lightning quick, with obviously zero lag , although changing the diff doesnt create more hp is make much more torque at the wheels meaning much greater acceleration, we dont lose top end because of remap, giving us 7900 rpm , hey presto one race car !

A 2.5 sti ppp is 4.8 to 60 standard, the ppp is fitted at the dealers it involves a high flow exhaust, a remaped ecu, and a high flow fuel pump and a prodrive certificate it produces 320 bhp up from the standard 280. My 07 has it and it would easily out run a M3
you fools if that scooby has something called the ppp pack fitted at factory which most did have fitted then it wouldnt need modding an it would murder an e46 m3.. the scooby ppp-(prodrive performane pack) 0-60 is 5 seconds flat while the m3 is 5.4.. scooby ppp is 320 bhp while the m3 is 343 bhp but the m3 is over 250kgs heavier in weight so you do the mathes!!! a p1 impreza however would embarass that m3 alot worse with 0-60 in 4.7 seconds STANDARD!

ok...i have never seen an STI having over 1000rwhp without having some engine swap...my personal car has 630rwhp stock internals on my e46 M3 running about 13psi...a good friend of mine has a stage 3 M3 built internals + turbo and will have 1200bhp..those numbers arent bad...S54 engine can produce a lot of power we are just starting to see it.

I know a lot of the M3, since he was bulit. For Example the First M3 have got a bigger C-Panel and a higher trunk lid.
But you sould know, that a M3 CSL is much more expensive. And you souhld know, that for example n Evo isnt a Lancer. It looks completly different. And have got a special Racing-Setup. Like the Subaru Wrx Sti. A normal WRX is just a pushed up normal Impreza. But the Sti is also a racingcar, beacause of the Steering, the Suspension ect...not only the engine.
3.) BMW is for Understatment, the Evo or Sti are Sportcars with all Carbon, Spoiler and Plastik, that they Need for better Aerodynamics. my friend, i own a stock 2007 sti and my next door neghbour owns a 2004 m3 smg...we've raced quite a few times and m3 has absolutely no chance..just check 0-100km/h & 1/4 mile stats for both cars and you'll see.Also, in Australian Motor magazine sti laped the track second and a half quicker than the m3.However m3 CSL is quicker around a track than a stock sti..but put it up against sti spec c and it will lose..sorry man i'm not being buyest at all but these are the facts

Read carefuly, im talkn the SMG m3. The regular 6 speed would have, atleast should have depending on driver, won the race. The M3 is easily a better car, more luxury, more performance, more style, and made by a better company.

The STi have a turbo stock, so it's STi(50k cnd) stock vs M3 stock (110k cnd), so u see the difference dude. M3 is not a car for going fast, its just a luxary car.

WOW, typical uneducated remark. M3 driver sucked? It was a M3 SMG, meaning he couldn't have sucked unless he didn't know what the gear shifter was. Every shift in a SMG M3 is almost perfect because it is clutchless. The STI smoked it because the STI is AWD, meaning IMMEDIATE grip off the line, AWD cars like the Evo and STI will always prevail from a dig you fool.

i ve got an e46 smgII trust me you can still have a bad start the gear changes are flawless though. there is launch control but it fu#ks everything really quick if you use it to much. just to mix it up a bit the last time i race an 2005 sti i beat it by a second over the 1/4 mile. He had a filter and exhaust and mine was standard

I know a lot of the M3, since he was bulit. For Example the First M3 have got a bigger C-Panel and a higher trunk lid.
But you sould know, that a M3 CSL is much more expensive. And you souhld know, that for example n Evo isnt a Lancer. It looks completly different. And have got a special Racing-Setup. Like the Subaru Wrx Sti. A normal WRX is just a pushed up normal Impreza. But the Sti is also a racingcar, beacause of the Steering, the Suspension ect...not only the engine.

Hi. A Nice Video. but first you have to remember 2 things:
1.) A Bmw M3 is a Luxerious Sportcar with a lot of HP and no turbo. And the engine is built very good.
but
2.) An Evo or ´n Sti are the better Racing Cars. because they only have the things, what a driver needs, for a light weight. No mather if they are from Japan, Usa, or Europe. But this time Japan makes the Game.

the ///M3 is done with the performance after a lil tuning, because for getting more power u would have to install a turbo or S/C, i wanted a car that is fast at accelaration, speed and has lots of torque...
Tell me a car that will be so fast, after you invest about 5.000 dollar for tuning...i dont think u will get a better mix out of performance and price.
Of course the BMW will always be more expensive and more luxury, but i dont care for that feature when i race tracks ;-)

i already told that once here, i am the driver of the STi, i dont bought an STi because i am a poor neither because i search excuses...i drove an ///M3 before, and its an awesome car...u r right, at top end for example on the highway is a ///M3 faster...and BMW builds cars without SC or Turbo, this is technical high performance...but the boxer motor of the STi isnt that bad, remember, Porsche uses the same technology, and they are by the way sport cars producer *haha*

I raced my Audi A4 2.8L Supercharged against the Subaru STi and they are fast on start but past 50km/h I was just closing on him so fast that I was amazed and mine is Tiptronic :P

as an all round car i agree that m3 is better because you get performance and luxury as well.But sti's and evo's are amazing cars.you definitely get your value for money. I've paid $63,000 AUD for mine and thats excellent value for a car thats up againt m3's, porsches etc..
German cars are better and thats why i've ordered an AUDI RS4 but i wont get it 'till august this year..but till then the STI rules, cheers...

my friend, i own a stock 2007 sti and my next door neghbour owns a 2004 m3 smg...we've raced quite a few times and m3 has absolutely no chance..just check 0-100km/h & 1/4 mile stats for both cars and you'll see.Also, in Australian Motor magazine sti laped the track second and a half quicker than the m3.However m3 CSL is quicker around a track than a stock sti..but put it up against sti spec c and it will lose..sorry man i'm not being buyest at all but these are the facts
