  • Fantastic animation! worst twist ending ever-.-

  • Kuwait's right! Beautiful:) * Thanks

  • Wow, so good, almost makes me want to call it fake because of how smooth it all looks. Would love to know how they did this.

  • Já usavam LSD naquela época?? A inspiração do Spielberg! Muito legal!

  • uhhhh When the small chicken got out. And the Car was building up...i was thinking:

    What the Fuck?

  • Too bad they didnt have a "special effects" academy award in 1930, 'cause this would surely win it!! Incredible stop motion animation!! And I thought King kong was good!! :) Thanks for posting this odd but spectacular bit! Still very entertaining!

  • The animation on the... unwrapping of the car is mind-boggling O_o - bravo!

  • That bird is way my talented than todays birds, they only shit on cars!

  • I once shit a Model T

  • LOL SUUUURE!

  • We gotta find that bird! We've got 18-20 years before it can lay it's egg!

  • This is not only 1st class work but also killing fun! Has

  • it is missing the whole beginning intro this has been butchered.so sad to see

  • Bowers did some incredible stuff.

  • I love stop motion, and this just makes me love it even more. Knowing the hard work, and long periods of stress these people had to go through in order to make this. It makes the 3 minutes all worth while.

  • i cant believe that was done in the 1930's! mind blowing!

  • it's like David Lynch, but I dunno much more entertaining is the only way I could describe it.

  • très impressionnant!!! bravo aux artistes

  • This must have blown peoples minds in the 30s, hell it's blowing my mind now thinking about it. Where have all the animators gone who think like this? the part with the car... a masterpiece.

  • I remember watching this when I was a kid

  • @gamerfire3 So you are 80 years old?

  • wow!

  • That weird mime just got pwned by that freakish bird. So much for his dream of hatching five million cars a year...

  • incredible work, even more so considering it was done in 1930

  • Deranged, but awesome.

  • mmm...this reminds me David Lynch´s work

  • @mExloKo13 I agree, it's very David Lynch's Eraser Head.

  • Did you notice the camera "pan" backwards while the car materialized?

  • Truly remarkable

  • Chewing the fender was hot! On par with PIXAR... er, um... 1930's style... that is.

  • and people still dont belive in dinosaurs.

  • Amazing. I'm an animator and I can't even believe how much work this would have been in to make in 1930. And most of it is so smooth. Super cool. Incredible.

  • Great stuff! Lousy acting, but great animation!

  • tis is awesome love it especially cos of the time its made

  • the car at the end :O boggled my mind i guess they either sawed it off bit by bit then reversed it or they had serious termite problems heh but yeah this footage is a jem proffesionally done and smooth too compared to alot of modern stop motion attempts,,,excellent! :)

  • Let's see, 5 million cars a year equates to 1 car every 6.3 seconds.

In the video, it takes the bird a good 9 seconds just to lay the egg, let alone process it any.

  • so what are you trying to tell me? that shaving a turkey is funny, like what do they speak in turkey, gobble gobble, dad's joke, does this mean you'll set me back up with my boyfriend?, or let me get married to him? please. ha ha i am going to go ask him to shave a turkey with me, do you think he'll love me?

  • Excellent, even more for a 1930 work! COOL!

  • OMG

  • sdfdsdssdsvddssd

  • GM should hire this bird.

  • Hahaha!

  • Awesome! Even more has been done in 1930...

  • Really!

  • So this is a movie hugh called its a bird id like to see it.

  • IT'S A MOTHERFUCKING BIRD

    EATING MOTHERFUCKING METAL

    AWESOME

also, the actor reminded me of a less scary klaus nomi for some reason

  • Why do you morons have to swear? Back to school.

  • Fantastic!

Could you upload the entire short, please?

  • thankyou so much for uploading this!

  • well that is interesting. Its pretty smooth considering its a 1930 video lol

  • very cool 1930??

  • ahahhahaha that was the most random thing i've ever watched on youtube.

  • Five Stars video!! Amazing FXS for that time!

  • I had this on video as a child and loved it! The video had a series of cartoons and frame by frame movies. It was called Weird Cartoons. its much to be appreciated :)

  • Wow! I have been waiting to see some Charley Bowers for ages, thanks for posting

  • Amazing! I don't know how he made that car appear, but its incredible. Just heard of this guy on a cool Amazon list of silent comedy. "Great Moments in Silent Comedy."
