I'm starting to find that everyone who plays this damned instrument is plagued with laryngoceles... They are sacs of air that fill your neck when you have a herniated larynx... It makes a person look like a symian or a bullfrog when they create backpressure ( as in filling the bag pipe with air ). I suffer from them but I gained these wonderful medical anomalies from playing a trumpet, not a bagpipe. You can tell this gent has them pretty bad as his neck inflates like a balloon while he plays!

@schulhoff18 a birl is basically playing to Low G's in rapid succession. There are several different ways to do it. I do it the same way this guy does. Swiping your pinky over the g hole in a downward motion then sliding it back up and off to the side by curling it. He does it quite a few times at the 2:30 mark during the close up of his hands.

@Gaelforced Your awesome. You must love bagpipe music like me. I was once obsessed by them, tried to learn to play but couldn't no matter how hard I tried. They are an awesome instrument of war. Have you ever watched the documentaries Ladies from Hell and A Call to the Blood? their documentaries about how the bagpipes becames known as instruments of war, and how pipers were actually banned in England during some period, can't remember but they are great videos.
