  • hate to correct you because you are the messiah but you said "the first time we saw it was in the opening of the first star wars a new hope. where the death star captures the blockade runner". i know im being critical but the blockade runner was pulled into the docking bay of a star destroyer named the devastator . anyway love the vids and i'm currently making a clone costume. shalom ethan

  • well there is one problem they tried to close the holes so you dont need to drill holes

  • dude thats really awsome... I wish I had the time... I cant sit down and do that for 5 minutes, lolz, But really nice job!

  • wow dude nice vid but it looks like you ready to kill someone..... look at the wep's in the back... DAMM ! NICE VID !

  • I admire that you did something creative and made your own prop guns, but wouldn't it have been easier to simply by the toy versions of those guns and paint them to look more realistic.

  • Dude, sit down, take a deep breath, and calm yourself. It's only a damn movie. Geez.

  • Very COOOL!

  • Your work is awesome but on the lightsabers can you PLEEEEZ make the light thing

  • @TheMasterWade

dude, you can do it yourself... it's called video editing

  • @lflank Star Wars isn't 'just' a movie. It's a religion!!!

  • it's just a British Sterling-Patchett Sub Machine Gun

  • i like han solos blaster

  • wow that is so amazing! speechless

  • sweet can u make me 1

  • Comment removed

  • this is so cool, your very talented.

also nice weapons in the background

  • no Sterling sub-machine sitting around... rofl

  • Could just use a low magnifiying Rifle scope for the rebel blaster. probly dont have one though.

  • Instant 5 stars. I mean it's better than a store bought blaster. BRAVO!

  • I filled the gaps in with glue, let it dry, then painted it.

  • how did you get the wooden handle to stay on the round piece of pvc

  • I drilled a hole into the end of the wooden stock, then glued the pipe in there and secured it with two screws..

  • I also filled in the gap between the wood and the pipe with glue, and painted it in.

  • oh, cuz im making an imperial blaster pistol and if i can get hold of a camera, ill make a video with a lightsaber i made and the blaster im planning yo make

  • I have given it a go myself with some good results I think :)

  • that is awesome....

  • can i use wood for a blaster?

  • Yes. But it will be a lot heavier than pvc pipe.

  • Intresting. You think you would be able to make a tutorial on how to make the blaster effect in a fan film?

  • In After Effects, you can do it using the "beam" effect.

  • Cool! I'm still getting my after effects downloaded for the lightsabers but once It's done I'll see if I can pull off doing the blaster effect! Thanks.

But from what I saw in your video your using alot of stuff I might need to go to homedepot for. What would recomend a 15 year old use who just blew all his money on the laptop making it possible to do the video effects?

  • Scrounge around. I deliberately made all the props from materials that were cheap and easy to find -- pvc pipe, wood, metal tubes. Just hunt around and find whatever will work.

  • Nice inventions. I'm jeolous. Question: What do you do for a living?

  • k not to be all scientific and all, but i think that an empireal star destroyer ship, not the death star, caught the corrillean corvete

  • Yep, I mis-spoke myself.

  • make a online stor man. with that money that can lead to more tubes and stuff for lightsabers

  • I'm not really interested in selling things -- I just want to illustrate how to make cheap good-looking props for fan films.

  • thats great but with the money you make you can make even better props

    just saying

  • I already make enough money to make or buy any prop I want. I own my own company. So that's not the issue.

Any doofus can BUY something. I don't want people to just buy what I, or somebody else, makes. I want people to be creative and imaginative, and make their OWN. So what I am doing is giving people ideas that they can build on, and illustrating a lot of techniques to make props and costumes cheaply and easily, from parts that can be found anywhere.

  • i never saw it that way thanks man

  • What about a Battle Droid Blaster. Or a Storm Trooper Pistol.

  • i agree with that guy,u shuld make an online store :)

  • nooooooooooo, you have a sub machine gun sitting around, JK :P

  • you should make an online store! :D

  • AWESOME MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • teach me

  • has anyone told you you have no life?.. well u kinda do but who cares? your f****ing awsome

  • One of the advantages of owning my own company is that I have plenty of spare time to do whatever I want.

    :)

  • Sorry I meant 2:55

  • how can you make an 8 inch nob joke out of an innocent tutorial lol

  • 0:55 lol i know it probably not that funny to you but i laughed.

  • I love the emperial blaster! the only thing I would change about it is that it lacks somthing for a folding stock under the barel. I will certainly try a lot of your Ideas on mine :)

  • I did thinki about making a folding stock from pieces of flat aluminum bar, but it would have added a lot of parts and cost, and I wanted to keep it as cheap and simple as possible.

And the blaster looks pretty good without it.

  • u like to recycle items

  • Well, that's the whole game. :)

Anybody can buy a replica in a toy store.

For me, it's lots more fun (and lots cheaper) to make my own, out of whatever I can find lying around that works and looks good.

  • cool

  • ya like "that turned out pretty good"

  • I do everything on the fly, so when I start something, I'm never entirely sure how it will turn out.

So I'm always happy when it turns out pretty good.

    :)

  • you are a real inventor

  • The trick, I think, is in having a good "eye" for it. I can teach people how to connect various parts, and how to fit things together, but I can't teach how to look at various things and visualize how they'd look, or how a particular prop should be put together. One can either "see it", or not. It's a skill that can't be taught. It's more art than science.

  • Pure artistry sensitive to beauty. Cheers mate! =)

  • wow, you are very creative. nice job

  • dude your awsome will you tell me can u use card board

  • Cardboard will just fall apart.

  • wow!!!

  • could you try Han Solo if you got spare time?

  • Han Solo's blaster is just a plastic Mauser broomhandle pistol with a piece of funnel glued on the front of the barrel.

  • is a website avalable you would reomened on steps how to build

  • Do a Google for "PVC blaster builders club".

They have full-size plans you can print out.

  • hey i was wondering could you make alightsaber prop out of a crappy toy from walmart or an fx saber?

  • FX, I think, offers a kit of parts that can be fit together in different ways to make various designs. It costs a lot, though. As for the plastic ones found in WalMart, I don't like them. They're way too big and fat.

I've always found it much easier and far cheaper to just build my own sabers from scratch.

  • If u can answer to my commentary i will be very gratefull!

  • Hey i like your vids. a lot, i think your light sabers are preaty cool, they are cheap and are preaty easy to make.

But i have a suggestion, in other vids. i've seen people come to use PVC tubes instead of the metal or steel ones(i dont know the difference XD), I think that making them with PVC is easier to people that doesn't has the needed Tools like a drill or something to cut steel(because PVC is a lot easier to cut) and also are easier for Little kids to make like me! Just a Suggestion!!

  • You are absolutely right -- PVC is easier to work with, and also much cheaper, than metal pipes.

That's why both of these blasters use PVC pipes.

It should also be kept in mind that the blasters described here are meant to be movie props. Most people who make all-metal versions, want them for trooping, where they have to be durable and withstand a lot of abuse.

  • Thanks for all the lightsaber information Lflank it helped me a lot but do you wanna make another movie because they're so cool?

  • I'm working on it . . . . I only do these in my spare time, and right now I am in the middle of upgrading to a new computer.

  • i do but im not gona take them apart their...

    'my preciose'

  • tee hee.

I'm not all that concerned about making them screen-accurate. My primary aim is to make them (1) cheap, (2) simple to make, and (3) look good.

The people who are obsessed with screen-accuracy have always annoyed me, since NOBODY'S replica is accurate unless it was made by ILM.

  • mmm....that's not accurate..

  • No kidding.

NOBODY'S is accurate unless they have some British Army surplus Sterling submachine guns lying around.

  • do u think u could make a han solo or a princese lea sporting blaster or even a boba fett rifle!!!

  • you are the best star wars wepon maker :)

  • lol it looks like a cartoon blaster xD

  • are you making any more videos?

  • I'm working on them. I only do these in my spare time.

  • ok, i was just wondering what are they about?

  • You'll see when I post them. ;)

Let's just say that I've finished most of the props I need, and am still waiting on some costuming . . .

  • Cool i cant wait! =D

  • i made a lightsaber using your style but its not as good as yours

  • dood im totaly gonna make like 6 sabers man
