I agree with everything that @jailstars said. Adding the violin in would've added that bit of dynamic and emotion; but only if played in certain parts of the song. I would be VERY interested to hear it if you decide to redo it with only violin strings added in certain parts. But still, very good job, especially for the fact that you played it by ear. Kudos!

very good job. some constructive criticism. I know the whole point was the violin but you can lose a lot of dynamics by playing through the whole song. I recommend adding it on certain parts and backing out and such. Of course this is only my perspective. But again very good job, I liked it.

Like I said, the creator did a wonderful job, PERSONALY i just don't believe the violin suits this song as it makes it a little bit too cluttered. A basic rule of thumb in composing is trying not to combine too many instruments as there will be too much going on for the listener. This song is very hard to incorporate another instrument as there is basically constant harmony between Leighton and Mindy. Still, 5 stars for this vid because they did an incredible job!

From a different perspective, Lydia doesn't use a ton of synthetic effects or instruments. They keep it simple and beautiful. Which adds room for a subtle amount, which the violin superbly incorporated into the song. I believe it added just that bit extra emotional impact this song delivers, and therefore, making it an incredible addition.
