  • Wow, I stumbled across your recording by accident. WOW! So beautiful. That's pretty amazing that you put your voice together and created this beautiful piece. My nursing classmates and I like to sing together and you mentioned that you have mp3's of each of the three parts in this song. Is it possible to get a copy of those?

  • @meowface13 i'm very glad you liked it, and i'll be happy to send you the separate tracks if you give me an email address! :)

  • @California563 Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch. It's on the "O Brother Where Art Thou?" soundtrack.

  • nicely done

  • beautifully done!

  • anyone else in a trance?

  • you sing beautyfull..

    Thanx for posting this.

  • this is AMAZING. thank you for a good version of this song!

  • Very Nice, I have to agree with Zues though, the consonants are not as soft as they should be.

  • woah

  • thought it sounded brilliant myself. :) pretty song

  • you nearly put me to sleep with this, such a soothing sound <3

  • we likesies mucho better than movie version! bravo!!!

  • Your voice does sound very good, but some of the consonants sound so harsh. (ex. "Corn" @ 34-35 seconds.

  • @Zues0745 sorry that english is not my mother tongue.

  • @p0nette the "corn" part i one of my favorite patrs because of the way you sing it

  • @p0nette i think bits like that give the song a lot of flavor. and i think your voice is amazing. what's your native language?

  • @elazarn2 thanks!! french :)

  • @p0nette I can only say how great your voice sounds. You have a great rendition to this song, it was a life savior for me, while I was trying to take care of my grand daughter. She was screaming and crying for about an hour, played this song, and she was asleep almost instantly.

  • Comment removed

  • @elazarn2 -- Oh, French...I can only dream....that would be heaven, my dear, to hear this in French.....this version is also wonderful...

  • i thought it was lovely babe

  • @p0nette Don't listen to this *****. There's nothing harsh in here. I am a native speaker of English and my parents are Southern; listening to this song, I'd never guess that you aren't American. It's an incredible recording--and the more impressive that you did all three parts. Comment te dire "WOW!!!" en francais?!?!

  • I dont know why but every time i hear this i almost cry :*(

  • nice

  • Very nice, Solid, and feeling, sweet. Keep up the good work :-), hope the hand improves x

  • good job

  • dang nice voice

  • Don't you weep pretty babe She's long gone with her red shoes on Gonna need another loving babe Go to sleep little babe Go to sleep little babe You and me and the devil makes three Don't need no other lovin' babe Go to sleep little babe Go to sleep little babe Come lay bones on the alabaster stones And be my everlovin baby
  • Go to sleep little babe, Go to sleep little babe Your momma's gone away and your daddy's gonna stay Didn't leave nobody but the baby Go to sleep little babe, Go to sleep little babe Everybody's gone in the cotton and the corn Didn't leave nobody but the baby You're a sweet little babe You're a sweet little babe Honey in the rock and the sugar don't stop Gonna bring a bottle to the baby Don't you weep pretty babe
  • P0nette this is awesome, thanks, love the song well done x x x

  • hmmm wow luv this song and that pic is beautiful

  • does anyone know where i can get the guitar tabs for this song

  • wow, that was beautiful!!!!!

  • You have a very talented ear for harmonies and pitch p0nette. Your diction on a bluegrass piece is pretty good as well for someone who is from France.

  • @Lastandria You can tell it is not the recorded version by her enunciation throughout the song. For instance listen to how she pronounces the word corn. Also the soundtrack version has a verse that p0nette has omitted "You're a sweet little baby, You're a sweet little baby, Honey in the rock and the sugar don't stop, Gonna bring a bottle to the baby"

  • @Kedfagan hi :) I'm from France.

  • i almost thought this was the original o_o

    youre amazing

  • i can send you the 3 separates mp3 recordings of my voice if you want. you should be ashamed if you really have the CD, it means you can't make the difference between an original and a cover! maybe you should get your hearing tested?

  • @p0nette -you should delete that ignorant comment from Lastandria! I have seen "Brother where art thou" and although you have kept very true to the original and really do the song justice. it's clear that this is your own recording, not lifted from the CD (mind you, I guess you could take his/her comments as a compliment) (Lastandria can't be a musician, and if so has not a very discerning ear!)

  • @p0nette ahhah jealous retards can't understand what talent is, even a fucking dog would tell the difference. The cd version even has some background melody, I don't know, like a flute !

    BTW Great job pOnette

  • @uverdadeiro thanks!! yeah it makes me think of a weird instrument we call "scie musicale" here (musical saw)... try to search on YouTube you'll find funny stuff!

  • @Lastandria I think it is her. I have heard the original countless times and I do not hear Emmylou on this. And this is a lovely cover.

  • That is just so beautiful

  • mmhmmmmm

  • Excellent!!!!BTW,you have great guitar skills,I've seen your other videos, don't underestimate yourself, you are talented!Hopefully your condition don't return!

  • Wow this is amazing! Usually when people put out these videos they suck..but this is just Elite. /favorite

  • Like Waterbagel, I was expecting "meh." Damn........you're really good.

  • simply amazing!

  • i clicked on this link kinda half-expecting crap..

    but this is awesome.

    like..

    wow.

  • This is you and 2 others?

  • Its only her, but she over-dubbed 3 of her tracks together to produce the harmony

  • @singin0505...I see...Still, Very impressive. I like your picture by the way, With your guitar :)

  • damn, thats good

  • Lay bounds?

Lay your BONES on the alabaster stones.

  • Very nice and I think it's comparable to the lovely way it was sung for the movie.

  • you have a beautiful voice, i don't get tired of listen this song.

  • what a great song, amazing! so u sang this, i hope! but how brilliant

  • well done on the harmony. it's a tricky one.

you're a bit flat, but your tone is good and consistent throughout.

i don't think your voice is at all angular. ;)

  • omg awesome!

  • Absolutely perfect. Very very good

  • very good! Did you or anybody else ever try to play and sing this song with an accoustic guitar?

  • sweet!

  • This song somehow make me calm and sleepy like I'm being hug to sleep.

  • Comment removed

  • Favoriting this, you have the voice of an angle, you should be extremely proud of this piece. 5/5

Also, it would be awesom if you did a cover of the warren zevon song, "carmelita."

  • pretty

  • This is absolutely beautiful!!!! I've been searching all over the internet for chorded lyrics for an ensemble that I'll be in, but I can't find any! Could you possibly post some???

  • hi, thank you very much! unfortunately i can't help you, i don't have the chorded lyrics, i've just listened to the original and tried to reproduce it.

  • holy crap! that was awesome! u guys r very talented and wonderful voices:)

  • im sitting here with my neice too shes 10 months old and i used to sing this to her as a newborn, she wouldnt stop wiggling around so i played this she definitly remembers cuz she got all quiet =D

  • wow u have a very great voice, why havent i checked this out before, ive just added it to favourites, my neice who is about a year old just smiled an laughed at this video, right before she fell asleep. U have a great voice make sure make some more a ccapella harmonies good luck

  • i personally loved it, but whatever happened to the little verse "gonna bring a bottle to the baby"? lol i liked that part in the movie because i just loved the voice of the girl that sang it :) if you don't know what i'm talking about then you can watch the movie O Brother Where Art Thou? or you can just find it somewhere here on youtube

  • I'm agree with slugg.... I have listened and read about fairy....... Now I know that exist...

    thanks...so much

  • Only problem with this... I wish it was 20 minutes longer. Awesome. 5 stars and favourited. Thanx

  • clean crisp white noise

  • the picture goes to the song "go to sleep "

    person dude is sleeping

  • Wonderful! Wonderful harmony & great voice.

Just be careful, when you add 3 tracks together like that, you also add the noise from 3 tracks and noise is additive so you get 3x the noise level.

Don't know about GarageBand at all, but there might be noise cancellation features.

  • this is my daughters song, she goes to sleep whenever sh hears it. so do i when my b/f sings it to me lol

  • It's nice. Singing in harmony with oneself my successively one track after another and mixing them together is called "multitrack", btw. You should add that keyword to your video title and the tags or many people might miss it.

  • lol rite next 2 u

  • i'm an audiophile, and i loved it.

    good job.

  • my girlfriend just fell asleep next to me, worked a dream!! ha ha seriously out like a light!!!

  • This is not the "Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss & Gillian Welch - O Brother, Where Art Thou?" version .. a lot of work went into this ... you siing very well!

  • this is the best lullaby i have ever heard

  • unbelievable ! just amazing, crazy well sung! put more of that kind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow!

  • this is one of my favorite songs

i didnt know it until we watched the movie o brother where art thou in english class the other day

  • wow just lovely. what are all the lyrics?

  • Thank you for this posting got my 11 month old asleep listening to this. Thank you again

  • if this is really you singing its very good. it sounds just like the original thats y im not sure if its actually u haha no offense.

  • thanks :) I think that's a good thing if it sounds like the original!! ^^ I've listened to it many times in order to distinguish the 3 different parts, and then record them separately, so I guess that's why it sounds like it! thanks again bye!

  • made my baby sister go to sleep thanks alot! :D

  • Je suis dingue fou á cette chanson!

  • Merci, c'est incroyable, je suis tout simplement marre que je ne peux pas chanter, comme vous pouvez ...je suis désolé pour ma français, sa fait longtemps

  • wow . :)

  • holy sh**. iv only heard a couple versions of this song, your made me cry - in a good way - amazing voice. i was/ am in the middle of a breakdown. your voice is alot of help, and i am getting through thanks to you. i dont know you, i have never met you. and though we may never meet, talk, cry to each other, i love you.

  • You have a beautiful voice. You are blessed.

  • Gorgeous voice! And it sounds almost exactly like the movie <3

  • amazing voice!!!! LOVE IT!

  • encantado, enchanting, bezaubernd !

  • i love this song so much, every time i hear it it gives me chills

  • You did a fantastic job, I think, but if I can offer a little criticism, the 'r' in 'corn' was stressed way too much. It should somewhat rhyme with 'gone'. This is usually a rule of thumb with any singing, that any 'r' that doesn't begin a word sounds like the typical American idea of a British accent, very soft, and almost sounding like a 'w' or an 'h'.

  • i'm glad you like it.

english is not my mother tongue (i'm french) so i'm not always aware of all its subtleties. so the criticism is welcome :) thanks!

  • Such a nice song ;D

    x

  • Wow, I could marry you over the internet aslong as you sent me the odd voice message now and then.. :')

  • You did an excellent job. This is such a haunting tune. It really can put a person in a trance. I think my heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing all calmed after listening to this. Kinda therapeutic.

  • Wow - really nice voice - great rendition

  • my sister fell asleep 2 dis song thnx for postin it

  • you don't need a guitar - this is beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • With a voice like that, who needs a guitar! Excellent

  • hey this is really good~!!!

    and good rendition of girl

  • love this. beautiful recording.

  • I can't decide what I think this song is about. I honestly think every verse has a different meaning, giving each chorus a new meaning as well. Any ideas? I love these kinds of discussions.

  • It's simple. It's a very very raw song and means literally what it means. That's why it sso powerful.

  • I too have been wondering about the meaning of this song - so I did quite a bit of research. The best I can conclude is this song is sung by "Death" to a baby that was left alone at home, while everyone was in the fields working. The conotation of "honey in the rock" is the color of alabaster. This was often used in altars and funeral staturary - not tombstones - those are marble. "Lay your bones on the alabaster stones" is similar to "resting your weary bones". (Continued)
