Painting is modding, its just adding a design. Modding is like giving it more fps by increasing the spring rate. You should also get metal airsoft gun, and dont get walmart guns in the future, their cheap, but they are cheap plastic. Get metal guns in the future, their more expensive but the have more fps and last longer. :)

I would recommend you save your money and get a JG m4. They are $136 and come with a tight bore barrel (means the bb is shot further and is more powerful, accurate, etc). And JGs are amazing guns and are great for beginners. They come with a battery and charger too!
