  • He is beginning to look like an older Orson Welles

  • Love how Hagrid's in the suggestions xD

  • This actually brought tears to my eyes, the PASSION of the man! I can't believe he didn't get it. He should do a motivational speech every single week, and it should be made law that every man, woman and child hear it, maybe on a dreary Monday morning. Just think what we'd get done! It could change the dynamic of the entire human race. His energy is infectious!

  • Brian for King of the Milky way

  • Like this if you watched this because of the YogPod.

  • It's ok Brian, if Cambridge won't have you, we will at Lancaster University, you beautiful man.

  • Brian: CHISWICK! Take this to Lady Sainsbury (hands him a vase)

Chiswick: What is it, my lord?

    Brian: *Lord* Sainsbury.

    That's what should've really happened.

  • And the other guy won the post? I call BULLSHIT!

  • diggy diggy hole

  • Brian Blessed for president

  • This surely is a man deserving of honours...possibly they wouldn't mean much to a man of his stature...but surely they should be offered...

  • Fuck Cambridge, Prime Minister is his calling. Not one world leader would be unswayed of this giant screaming charismatic madman

  • The fact that he didn't get the position proves there really is no justice in the world. A beloved man, a fantastic actor, with a clear and powerful passion for the school and its affairs. On top of that, he has an incredible thirst for knowledge. Think of how many he could inspire if he were the chancellor of that school. And who got it? Some stuffy politician, and more than likely due to his "generosity." This world sickens me.

  • look at his fucking beard, omg!

  • I'd vote for him - to be Chancellor or anything and everything.

  • SCRAMMMMMMMBLED!!!!!!

  • He would have my vote

  • His dad was 98!!!

  • Forget Cambridge, he should be the CHANCELLOR OF THE WORLD!

  • Funny, really... That the person who did get it made some... Donations...

  • I know for sure that Brian Blessed has everything and more to become the chancellor of the University of Cambridge. His drive, his lifemotto gives hope and vision to be a student of Cambridge. He can bring Cambridge on a new level.

  • Get out and vote by 8pm today, or from 10am till 8pm tomorrow (Saturday) - this is the guy!

  • A legend, an inspiration, Cambridge twinned with Blessed.

  • We love you Brian. One of those people that most can agree, is a national treasure.

  • happy 75th birthday brian!

  • been a brian fan for years... he's brilliant allways makes me laugh!

  • I'd love to see one of his school essays. Written in all capitols, barely any cohesion between points and ends with a summary on cats. What a ledge <3

  • His passion made me cry...

  • Energy and enthusiasm and a mission. Go Brian.

  • A truly inspirational man, both this video and the vast number of other feats he has achieved.

Got to love that iconic booming voice too!

  • GORDON'S ALIVE

  • I have to say, I disagree with his belief that anyone can go to Cambridge. I know that no matter what I did, I could never get there. Not on my own merits, anyway (i.e. I do not have rich or famous parents!)

  • @JYCrazy1 Both my parents are cripplingly poor (I could tell you things about where we grew up that would make your hair stand on end), and I was the first person in my family ever to go to a university. I got into Cambridge, and got one of the top grades in my year. Most of the people around me were just like me, and didn't come from rich or famous backgrounds. A few did, but not most of them. I'm afraid your idea of Cambridge is at least 60 years out of date. Brian's on to something...

  • @orson12 Congratulations on getting there, then. You may have misunderstood my post - my key point was that I am not intelligent enough to get there, and neither were most of the people who applied for Cambridge (or Oxford) in my school year. Only three people managed to get to Oxbridge, and must say I don't think it's a coincidence that their parents were all very wealthy indeed.

  • @JYCrazy1 Yes, sorry, I misread the meaning of your original post! But I think there's the world of difference between encouraging people to apply when they don't have the grades, and encouraging bright kids who could easily get in, but are just too intimidated to apply. Cambridge already has a 60-65% state school intake. The main reason it's not higher is that only around 15% of state school students apply, while some private schools have up to 80% applying. It skews the pool of applicants.

  • Screw being Chancellor, I want Blessed for Prime Minister!

  • Such a wonderful man, sir I salute you!

  • Damn, I wish I was British and could vote for Mssr Blessed!

  • Bless you Brian

  • Can we just give Brian the honorary title of "Master of Britain"?

It would be somewhere in between the monarchy and Prime Minister.

  • @Dconquist Brian Blessed has the title "Brian Blessed". I think that's the best anyone could hope for.

  • Brian Blessed is amazing. Maximum respect.

  • Dear god, I do hope he's not losing his voice

  • '...go to the place of novices. Speak to those who have newly come to us. Tell them what happens to those who disobey.'

Something you once said in Blakes 7 - Cygnus Alpha.

  • Chancellor of Cambridge? Make him Prime Minister of the UK!

  • Brian Blessed... an absolute inspiration. If anyone can help people find their inner potential its got to be him.

  • For Brian! Crying shame if he does not get it.. sod sainsbury...

  • He deserves us, and we deserve him.

  • SWEAT BLOOD! Si se puede!

  • Stirring, moving stuff! Go Brian! I hope he gets it.
