@xoloo09 The problem here is the suspension price. Its too expensive compairing to a Vectra or any other similar Sedan. That grinds my gears. But dammmmm, this car is amazing.
as of right now is 3300 a good price? idk it kind of sounds cheap but the guy says he barely put new tires and added new things to the engine do u think it has something wrong or thats a normal price?
Honda's are great, great vehicles and this generation of Civic was really nice (2001-2005 = 7th-gen Civic). I had a 2002 and 2004 Civic LX sedan auto. Very, very good cars.
Had an 01 civic coupe couple years ago for about 2 years before it got totalled. bought an 07 GMC truck and never thought id miss my honda so much. even tho an 01 would be over 10 years old i still want another
My work moved so I had to get a higher MPG car, so I bought a 2001 Civic 2 door. Got it from a friend for only $4,000. New it was $17,500 so it was a great price. Gets just under 40 mpg, did some exhaust mods for economy improvement, and with 104,000 miles, still runs like new. But you won't get that high MPG with a heavy right foot like the guy in this video. Good luck with getting a car.
i turn 18 in 6 month so hopefully i can find a 2001-2006 honda civic i don't like driving stick i try my brother his acura integra and i hate it keep stepping on the clutch everytime make me mad. hopefully i can get an automatic honda civic my dad is willing to pay 15,000$ below so i hope i can find one
Love them Civic's! I own x2 2005 Civics Ex's. People can talk all they want about fast cars, but these cars 2001-2005 ( 7th Gens or EM2's ) average (34/38 auto and 38-45 miles/gallon 5-speed.)
@zqmbfg yeah man i recommend you that car it save gas and is fast and cute, i drive a protege 2002 that is a good car too and i am 17 i love it , my bro has the civic and i love it too, the mazda that i drive is like being driving a "cloud" it is so soft :D but civic is cute and young style too :D
@zqmbfg Go for Civic. If you wanna go fast a lil amount of money can make this damn fast. More reliable. chevy's and Buicks are old man's car. Crappy. And american made.
i used to drive really fast my first time but now since i got my driver licence ehh its kinda watever driving fast o not! but on my 98 honda civic i always drive fast :D except my is stick shift! i think ima post mine one of these days!
@SuperR1991 The radio does come out , i have the 2005 civic four door and, i changed mine to six disk cd changer with an aux port , little tricky to remove the radio .
im 15 and im planning on buying a civic for next summer either a 1997 or a 2001 civic. my budget will be like 3000$ think thats reasonable? (Auto tranny btw) and im looking for something with 200,000km MAX on it. think its possible?
@MrRichierich1990 hmm... do you know any other car? cause toyotas are cool and all. but for family cars. im gonna be 16 or 17 with a corolla people are gonna think its my moms car xD
@MrRichierich1990 hmm okay then idk. cause i was kinda looking for a car that was manufactured after 2000. with a 4,000$ budget possibly a ford focus 2002 what do you think
@JcRealz1 I got a 2001 civic EX 2 door with 100,000 miles on it for 3500 on a rebate, they are amazing but be sure to have a scanner plug in on it... below the wheel you can put a standard scanner that tells you a code to know if any parts are damage or need service, which is awesome because it's cheap and parts are dirt cheap.
This is my car! My parents bought her in 2001 when I was 12, I passed my driving test in this car, and now I'll graduate college with her! When I have kids, I'm going to pass her right along.....
@Jakeman2164 yeah i know but i do like the engine i just dont like the tranny i prefer something that when u step on it it will punch down and push u back to the seat and also make upshifts at really low rpm like around 2200 when normally driving
this generation of civic actually has less driver focused suspension then its last gen.....they did away with double wishbone :( ...honda says because this gen was targeted to teenage girls ...dammit honda..wtf ? LOL
Why the music so much. 1 -30 second would been enoughf while stting still. No radio while driving, please. Unless your trying to hide somthing.....lol Autos trans are to slow. 5 & 6 speeds are best. For power & MPG. I have a Accord with A/T with close to 200K miles. What a piece of junk it is. Everything is wornout. No kidding ! But hay it gets great MPG almost 17 City, and 20 Hwy. It tacking 3200 RPM's at 71 MPH. Like driving a bomb ready to go off.
@metalmaistro68 Yes your right. It's an 87 model Accord automatic 4cyc. It was built for the speed limit of 55 MPH. That was some years back. If I drive it like a old lady it does better. Maybe up to 5 MPG more per gallon of gas. But people honk at ya on the interstate. Not to forget, That it takes forever to get anywhere driving like that...lol I like Honda's. Just not mine so much. It still running thou. Tic tic tic.......BOOM
@metalmaistro68 That's what I was doing at the moment looking for another car. Also replying to your thoughts. I do agree. lol...... Yes it's real bad. It's better to laugh then cry thou. yl
@PeterGriffin4200 Some of the auto's more so then stick shifts. It all depends on how it was driven & maintained. Also the years. The older modles are not as good as the newer ones. All in all they are ok if well mantained. Boy is that hard on some.....Good luck on finding the fill tube, yl
this is the first car i learned to drive with its a perfect car to start driving i think its small and comfortable i like everything about this car as soon as i get a job im gonna start to save up for a 2010 honda accord coupe
@mario6279 Not trying to be nosy, But how do you pay for the gas without a job now. You most likely have a good story to tell us all. I remember my younger days. I was 13 and my car was a 65 Plymouth sport fury 2 with a V8. Me and the other guys around would get the gas from the lawn mowers, Or whatever else had fuel in it. Just so we could drive up and down the road. Back and forth and on. The good old days. Anybody have good True story's to tell ?
@ylism its not mines its my dads but he wants to give it to me but like i said i dont got a job.. and i never said i had it i said its the very first car i learned to drive with no need to be nosy lol and theres no reason to tell stories man ur kewl i wish i did that at 13 lol yeah and did also mention i got a lambo
@ylism not a story just an opinion on what i think about the car... and yeah its something to tell my grand kids when im old and we are sitting by the fire place drinking hot coco.
Hello, would you recomend this car? I found a white LX for $3900.00 with 185,000 kms. I know Honda's are good, but 've never owned one, so anything would be helpful, thanks!
@thecarexpert18 D1 means the car only runs in 1st gear its better for new drivers or for passing a jump or something else when over loaded! same as the D2 is that the car can only runs between 1st and 2nd gear and never go to the 3rd! when you are driving very tough UP Hills so try to use D2 but never cross the speed limit in this gear that is 60 to 75KM/H max! on 4 to 5.5 RPM! ok !
I used to own a 2002 honda civic I loved it until I sold it and got a 2004 mazda3 which turned out to be a way better car... more equipped and sportier than a honda civic
to answer your question, shifting into d1 or d2 etc...simply prevents the engine from shifting into the respectively higher gear...for instance, if youre in D2, the engine shifts from 1st to 2nd gear, and stays in second gear regardless of accelerator input. pretty much just dont drive fast in those configurations or else ull eventually overrev without realizing
The 1 and 2 digit stand for the maximum gear your car will shift to until the D (drive) is selected.
If you choose 1 then it won't shift up, it will stay in the 1st gear, for example if you select 2 then it will shift up from the 1st gear to the second, but it won't shift up any higher.
The D means drive and in this mode it will shift up all the way to the top gear while increasing the speed.
@thecarexpert18 d1 is drive 1, it's just the first gear, but i don't recommend using it. It's for like driving uphill and you need your motor to rev higher than it was in regular drive. Honda's are not the only cars with d1, d2, or d3.
@thecarexpert18 When You Put It In D1 Its Gonna Have Only 1 Shift I Tried It Wen My Bro Let Me Check His Vtec Nd On Second Its Wen It Shift To Second Gear And Just Accelerate On And On To Redline... In D2 Pretty Much The V-tec Is Ok Pulled In Around 7,000 Rpms In D1... :D
@MrRichierich1990 I have this exact model and I had a problem with it around 150K miles. Had to get it replaced and that ran me about $1,000. No idea why it happened, just did.
I have nearly 200K miles now and it runs like new, I just need a new A/C Compressor. I still get 30-35MPG combined
a 2002 honda civic lost to my 1990 chevy lumina lol, but there still great cars,

Ugh! I hate driving those. You have to make really hard turns to make a simple left/right turn.

Hello, would you recomend this car? I found a white LX for $3900.00 with 185,000 kms. I know Honda's are good, but 've never owned one, so anything would be helpful, thanks!

@thecarexpert18 D1 means the car only runs in 1st gear its better for new drivers or for passing a jump or something else when over loaded! same as the D2 is that the car can only runs between 1st and 2nd gear and never go to the 3rd! when you are driving very tough UP Hills so try to use D2 but never cross the speed limit in this gear that is 60 to 75KM/H max! on 4 to 5.5 RPM! ok !

I used to own a 2002 honda civic I loved it until I sold it and got a 2004 mazda3 which turned out to be a way better car... more equipped and sportier than a honda civic

to answer your question, shifting into d1 or d2 etc...simply prevents the engine from shifting into the respectively higher gear...for instance, if youre in D2, the engine shifts from 1st to 2nd gear, and stays in second gear regardless of accelerator input. pretty much just dont drive fast in those configurations or else ull eventually overrev without realizing
turbofanman1 1 year ago
@thecarexpert18
Cheers,
Jurijs.

@thecarexpert18 D1 doesn't go above 1st gear...D2 doesn't go above second gear for the automatic transmission. Used best for towing loads etc...
tehampto 1 year ago
@thecarexpert18 d1 is drive 1, it's just the first gear, but i don't recommend using it. It's for like driving uphill and you need your motor to rev higher than it was in regular drive. Honda's are not the only cars with d1, d2, or d3.

WOULD U QUIT FUCKING WITH THE RADIO

@thecarexpert18 When You Put It In D1 Its Gonna Have Only 1 Shift I Tried It Wen My Bro Let Me Check His Vtec Nd On Second Its Wen It Shift To Second Gear And Just Accelerate On And On To Redline... In D2 Pretty Much The V-tec Is Ok Pulled In Around 7,000 Rpms In D1... :D

was there ever a tranny problem w/ it? i know theyre known for it just curious as i might be getting one.
MrRichierich1990 1 year ago
@MrRichierich1990 I have this exact model and I had a problem with it around 150K miles. Had to get it replaced and that ran me about $1,000. No idea why it happened, just did.
I have nearly 200K miles now and it runs like new, I just need a new A/C Compressor. I still get 30-35MPG combined

@MrThestig8 It looks smaller than it feels...sometimes when I get out of mine I just stare at it because I realize how small it really is!
It's great for maneuvering around quickly in. Parking is super easy.
