Yeah jindal is a joke, and then Steele I wanted to give a chance. He seemed like he had a good message, and a good record. Then when I saw how much experience the other people running against him had, it was obvious it was affirmative action. Pretty sad just to have something to be a backdrop next to Obama. Worst part is I found Steele supports affirmative action hardcore and is liberal on many social issues. No respect for him anymore. The GOP has lost a lot of base, and better wise up.
Here's a solution, rally around Ron Paul's anti-Federal Reserve, anti-IRS, and pro-liberty ideals. Maybe then the GOP could recover from the Bush Republican syndrome.
From a newly-minted gay pagan libertarian, this all rings too true to be ignored. The fact that the GOP has fallen so far from its original purpose and direction is astounding and how painfully similar the two parties are now is just as disturbing.
We need constitutionalists and libertarians in local, state, and federal positions. None of us, either based on race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation can afford to let either side destroy us all.
the Republicans are playing the Democrats' ballgame. a lot of this can be seen in Steele who suggests that we should put hip-hop music in Republican promotions. that's never going to work and will be laughed at. if Jindal is our man against Obama we're screwed. we don't have half a shot at winning in 2012 unless we put a traditional candidate like Sanford that can actually take Obama down on the issue, give speeches like a politicians with balls, and relate to the Republican base.
lol, misgivings? he didn't even state any sort of opinion about her. It was nothing but 100% true, blandly read, unbiased facts as far as it concerned Palin.
As usual Mr. Avenger, you have helped to shed light on important issues. Please keep up the good work. I shall never cancel my subscription. You tell the truth, even when some of us don't want to hear it. You have keen insight for sure. A+
please don't call what the Republicans have been doing for most of that party's existence, republicanism. we are guaranteed a republican form of government (Art IV, Sec 4), but not a living document translation of our republicanism, but an original intent translation. see John Adams definition, it is NOT synonymous with democracy - as the current dictionary definition would have us believe.
As a Progressive ... SA i recommend you switch to the Libertarian Party .. & stop wasting your time on the Republican Party ... over 95% of the people in your party are "SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES" ... not "FISCAL CONSERVATIVES" .. that is why they shunned Ron Paul & will do the same to Stanford if he runs .. You have a better time finding a Black Person in your party than finding a "FISCAL CONSERVATIVE"
As some one who considers herself a Libertarian, I'd love to see the Libertarian party rise to power and hate the GOP. However, since the Whigs, there has never been an alternative to Republican-Democrat. The Bullmoose Party and the Reform Party are the only two that even came close to breaking out on the national scene, and that was because of their personalities (Theodore Roosevelt and Ross Perot). To my chagrin, I am a registered Republican. My voice is heard slightly rather than not at all.
Hmm,,,,I'm pretty sure Sanford was at the last Bilderberg meeting. Just something to consider if he does indeed become a prominent figure for the GOP. Of course he may have attended and left disgusted but who knows.
Timothy Geitner, Hank Paulson and Ben Bernanke (architects of our current financial hellride) were there as well. In a nutshell, it's a meeting of 100+ of the most powerful business and political elite who plan shitstorms.
It'd be nice if you, and others like you SA, would join the libertarian party and grow a strong party of and for the people. If ever there was a time for a third party, it's now.
I hope the Revolution drafts Sanford in 2012. I love Ron Paul but his age will be a liability. Look at what happened to McCain & he's actually a year younger than Dr. Paul.
That being said, if Sanford is our guy, I hope to God he sticks to his principles and brings us true conservatism.
Agreed to a point - Palin's push was as a rising star, not a star risen - and it was not in reaction to Obama or Clinton - Draft Palin movement came very early in the primaries - I know, I was part of it.
Jindal is a HORRIBLE choice for 2012 or 2016... if he can be re-elected in LA, we'll see - but his election was nothing more than "slipping through the door" while other Democrats split votes for the seat.
As a conservative, I have one question. How are Huckabee and Palin top picks? Huckabee had an atrocious record as the governor of Arkansas, raising taxes every year, releasing a convicted killer who went on to kill again, and saying a bill against benefits for illegal aliens was "un-Christian." The only good thing about Palin is her support for gun rights. She isn't knowledgeable enough for the job and is a symbol of the error of the GOP: embracing social instead of fiscal conservatism.
Bobby "Piyush" Jindal speech after Obama's speech was weak, unclear and lame! I feel sorry for the people of Louisiana! They should be fucking protesting in the streets! Residents of New Orleans should be outraged by this son of a bitch, especially black people from New Orleans! Hurricane Katrina victims should be fucking pissed off! Jindal is denying people by turning down the stimulus package. How the hell did this SADIST get elected?
As a person with Indian origin - I heartily denounce Jindal as a bumbling idiot of the first grade. He should not be allowed to take over the position of power which he has no affinity or understanding for. Don't know about Steele, he has been on Fox too many times, but seems to be a soft spoken opportunist. As for Sanford - don't know how good he would be surrounded by the rest of this cadre.
I heard someone who put it best the other day on radio. She said the RNC called her asking for a donation and she let him have it with "When you were in power you acted like liberals, now that you're not in power you act like conservatives! She went on to tell him where to get off. She so simply cut to the heart of the issue that I literally cried. Where has the conservative party gone? Big spending, big government, nation building neo-conservatives ... GET OUT OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!
The Republicans in power now are playing voters for fools. They hope that the voting public will forget their big spending ways 4 or 8 years from now. So when all the tax and spend Democrat stuff impoverishes more people they will vote Republican again because Republican actions have been long forgotten. It is important that we keep them honest and remind people that they lied when they were in power. It is a game the two parties play against the public.
no i agree. look at lots ot the bad things in the country. the more and more multiculturalism is pushed the more the country goes to hell. it was not this way in the 50's and 60's
no you are not alone in thinking that, and I'm saying that as a person of Indian heritage. And most smaller minority groups(outside of blacks and esp mexicans) think the same way. Multiculturalism ain't great for country or society fin the long run.
Palin is great although she is wrong about iraq/iran. jindal is odd... but MICHAEL STEELE IS A SCUMBAG NEOCON!!!! come on jack... this is not your best. Sanford stumbles during interviews and is a Bilderberg attendee and had trouble answering why he broke the Logan Act when confronted.
Right on. STEELE is a NEOCON tried and true. His principles are to the big government Republicanism which makes me sick. He is also one of the reasons I am a Libertarian and have zero interest in the Republican Party. Unless and until they start promoting real constitutionally limited government Republicans can get bent. Steele would sell his own Mother down the river for political gain the man seriously lacks limited government principles.
It must have been Sarah Palins Independent streak that made me like her..
Anyways, I don't have the luxury of keeping up with good GOP leaders..so glad to see you keep on it SouthernAvenger.
Busting my tail so I can pay the bills and put food on my table.
It would have been nice if we could have that Mark Sanford be the GOP leader or whatever. Because like you said its patronizing voters..with an Indian an a black man..
For a little bit almost sounds like that is going to lead to a joke.
Well Jack, as far as identity politics go I agree with you. I do think that if a person should be judged based on their character not the color of their skin.
However I will say this. Remember a while back when you made a video about the confederate flag? And you had pictures of black people waving confederate flags? I can't help but think that blacks that would do that (more than likely for regional pride) are rare. But you showed them none the less. Why?
Because in a political atmosphere where the stars and bars is seen as an offensive symbol to africans indicative of white supremacy that image has a way to smack down the idea that the confederate battle flag is some how racist. Take Bill Cosby for example. While many blacks did write him off as an uncle tom, hearing a black man point out something like say, affirmative action, is wrong holds more power to those wrapped up in the idea such a statement is racist than it would from a white mouth.
Keep in mind, this is lightly intended for me to play devil's advocate, but on issues of race or gender or even sexual orientation the words coming from a minority, woman, or homosexual would carry much more power to liberals whom are convinced that those against them must be prejudice.
If the goal is to take power away from liberals, I think you have already lost the battle. The job of republicans is not to win elections, but to implement an ideology guided policy.
