Or something like that but here Fariduddinji does not sing the second verse.
Their lineage is traced to Swami Haridas Dagar but to my knowledge he isnot the same as the Illustrious Teacher of Tansen. At best we can say that one of their ancestors was a student of Swami Haridas at Vrindavan.
The Dagar brothers are fantastic! They trace their ancestry all the way back to the 16th century, when the musician Tansen (their ancestor) played for Emperor Akbar. Amazing! Beuatiful performance, I really love the tabla and the veena here. Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
hi panchamkauns, according to my Indian music professor Tansen was very famous and the Dagars were very proud to trace their lineage back to him. You could be right, though. I think having relations to either Tansen or his guru is pretty fantastic! =)
Thanks for this priceless piece of music. I know you are a musician in your own right, but this is absolutely superb. What year was this, must be in the 80s.

I have a CD where Fariduddin sings this song ... from Makar Records in France. Sadly, they've gone bankrupt now. It's a great album!

@theultimateotaku Don't the Dagars like to trace their ancestry back not to Tansen, but to Tansen's guru? ;)
