hey thanks this demo is definitely the reinforcement i need to get one. im looking to play jazz and i couldnt find a really good example of how it would sound. do you have an opinion on the difference in sounds between this one and the abs one?
@cococody121 What are you "investing" in? This is not an investment. It's music! It's a fun thing. And fun is the best thing to have, according to Dudley Moore in Arthur.
Great vid. Thinking about getting one of those. Question, do you have some control about the volume? I mean, can you choose to some extent to play loud or soft? Thanks so much
@christummings Well, what about the fingering etc? Isn't that like a recorder? I play the sax myself, and i find it quite alot easier than playing a recorder.
Nice man. I really like that sound a lot. You really make it sound like a sax instead of the clarinet. I want one of these things, and will be ordering one when I get home from work.
Is yours a b-flat or a c model?? Also, is that a full bamboo one???
You sound great! I'd love it if you'd post some tips for beginners learning to play the xaphoon. I just received mine, but it's harder than I thought to transition from recorder!
Hi, thanks for the comment. Yes it hard comming from a recorder but easier coming from a sax or clarinet. My only advise is be patient and expeiment with different reeds till you find one that makes things easier for you untill you build up your embroshure. I've had mine for a year but only just started to take it seriously. I love my xaphoon and i'm practising scales, scales and more scales. Holding long notes is a great way for beginers to get a great tone. Good luck.
Sounds like Oboe!
