  • Sounds like Oboe!

  • wow this instrument have very nice sound :), you make it sound jazzy :)

  • Very nice! I'm going to have to practice if I want to be this good!

  • GREAT tone

  • Do you think the bamboo sounds better than the other one that they sell?

  • hey thanks this demo is definitely the reinforcement i need to get one. im looking to play jazz and i couldnt find a really good example of how it would sound. do you have an opinion on the difference in sounds between this one and the abs one?

  • love it....great vid man.....ive been waiting to get a Bb for a while but im not sure....

is it a good investment you think?

  • @cococody121 What are you "investing" in? This is not an investment. It's music! It's a fun thing. And fun is the best thing to have, according to Dudley Moore in Arthur.

  • can you play every half tone, or just fis and cis?

    PS great vid

  • I just got one and you can play every half tone :-P

  • thanks :-) I'm thinking about getting one...

  • Great vid. Thinking about getting one of those. Question, do you have some control about the volume? I mean, can you choose to some extent to play loud or soft? Thanks so much

  • Thank you for the comment. Yes you can play loud or soft. and also change sound by how you play.

  • Just placed a bid on the e-bay, let's see if I can get a bargain. Thanks for having inspired me!

  • got two ocves. this is a Bb xaphoon

  • Is it like playing a recorder?

  • it's not like playing the recorder... More like playing a Sax

  • @christummings Well, what about the fingering etc? Isn't that like a recorder? I play the sax myself, and i find it quite alot easier than playing a recorder.

  • @flaxys112 No i don't think the fingering is like a recorder... More like the sax fingering

  • Well, that surely does sound nice!

  • cool! great job

  • I am thinking of getting a LOW G. How long does it take to learn to play?

  • took me about 3 months of practicing every day. Bless and good luck.

  • sassy! Love it :)

  • man thats awesome.. and your room has a cool shape..

  • Nice man. I really like that sound a lot. You really make it sound like a sax instead of the clarinet. I want one of these things, and will be ordering one when I get home from work.

Is yours a b-flat or a c model?? Also, is that a full bamboo one???

  • Thanks Man. Mine is a Bamboo Bb hope you get yours soon and join the ranks of the Bamboo Warriors.

  • You sound great! I'd love it if you'd post some tips for beginners learning to play the xaphoon. I just received mine, but it's harder than I thought to transition from recorder!

  • Hi, thanks for the comment. Yes it hard comming from a recorder but easier coming from a sax or clarinet. My only advise is be patient and expeiment with different reeds till you find one that makes things easier for you untill you build up your embroshure. I've had mine for a year but only just started to take it seriously. I love my xaphoon and i'm practising scales, scales and more scales. Holding long notes is a great way for beginers to get a great tone. Good luck.

  • Thanks for the quick reply. I will try switching to a softer reed.

  • souds great =D

  • Thanks.... You got a xaphoon?
