  • what brand and make of guitar is Jerry playing here? It has nylon strings and sliding adjustments like a Godin guitar has

  • Drummers... take notice... less IS more!

  • why isn't Jerry Reed in the Rolling Stone top 100 guitarists?

  • Think I'll go and chop my guitar into kinelling now thanks

  • The ABSOLUTE two best guitar pickers that every walked the earth!!!! RIP Jerry & Chet.

  • just fantastastic

  • amazing

  • I love the Way George Bush, and Chet Atkins kind of resemble each other.

  • so happy. just grabbed the original 1970 LP of Jerry Reed's "Georgia Sunshine". sealed.

  • He did so much more than 'Smokey and the Bandit"

  • Whats with chet it took a while for him to get going..........

  • #44Snyder: Thanks for advising us about Paul Yandell's passing. The announcement and his obituary are on his website. It's fitting that Chet's daughter Merle gave Paul his CGP designation a few months ago, while he could enjoy the recognition. By all accounts a fine man, and by any standard, a superb guitarist.

  • Paul Yandell, who is to the left of Jerry as you look at the screen, has passed away. He worked for Jerry in the 70s and then became Chet's sideman for many many years. A great guitarist and an even greater person.

  • Excellent

  • Is that a Godin Multiac Jerry's picking?

  • @goldenhopper Haha, Godin? I don't think so! That is a Kirk sand/Chet Atkins Studio Classic CE. Godin can never put itself with that guitar, that is the guitar of guitars.

  • dont make em like this any more

  • Hail...Hail the the swingers of the The Yakety Axes....All Hail!!!!!

  • CHET RESPECTED THE FACT THAT HE WAS A GUEST ON JERRY REED'S SHOW AND WAS CONTENT AND HUMBLE ENOUGH TO SHOW IT !! Neither man had to worry who was #1 and #2 , THEY WERE EQUALS IN MUSIC !

  • Is that Harry Stinson "Handsome Harry" on drums? Just wondering...

  • I wish I could click "like" twice!

  • fantastic

  • The Best Guitar Players Ever

  • Chet looks like he's not really in the moment. Still he did a little solo improv on que.

  • CHET ONE IF NOT THE BEST GUITARIST OF ALLTIME!!!!!!

  • GOD BLESS THESE MEN!!!!!!!!

  • Chet reminds me of GWB Jr.

  • I love the beginning *o*

  • Who is Elvis?

  • @MrAndrewchester Why are you mentioning Elvis?????? Jerry is a guitarist and Elvis not, so i don't know what you mean.

  • Tremendous!

  • Looks like Paul Yandell is playing Merle Travis's old guitar - or one similar.

  • where the hell's jerry's fishin hat? :D

  • Yeah that's FLUX sitting on the far left of the picture, too bad they didn't turn him loose instead of Chet. Chet seems kind of lost on such funky stuff but FLUX would know what to do.

  • Did anyone notice Mark O'Connor and Jerry Douglas on the far left???

  • Love it! Jerry sure knew how to pick a guitar and playing with the legend Chet Atkins. Only way this could have been better would have been to add Roy Clark to the mix.

  • looks and sounds like george bush

  • Awesome!! This is what true country is about, not that crap that is out today..If anyone wants to see the ultimate slap in the face reguarding new country check out a group called The Low Cash Cowboys..Talk about Murder on Country Row

  • wow Jerry was a force... not the caricature he was portrayed as, a real musician. Check out Mark O'connor back there on violin...just great

  • wow Jerry was a force... not the caricature he was portrayed as, a real musician. Check out Mark O'connor back there on violin...just great

  • jerry always came across as the sort of bloke who'd roll up his sleeves and help u replace the clutch on your truck- one of the good guys- amazing talent -

  • fantastic perfromance

  • good stuff here;;; thanks

  • thats amazing!

  • Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, two of the best pickers in the business, each with their own distinctive style yet blend together perfectly. Chet let Jerry take point on this one but when they really get down together, it's unbeatable. Great vid. Thanks! (Goes in favs, of course)

  • It is George bush

  • Wow,this is pickin at its best. Thanks for posting.

  • Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel playing together would have been the best thing ever!

  • @colotron I wander why they ever didn't?

  • chet's sound is honey

  • Jerry Reed was a master of the guitar, his amazing improvs never missing one note, not enought has been said about this American great.

    Long Live Jerry Reed.......................

  • Jerry Reed is an amazing guitar player, doesn't get enough credit for his guitar work

  • @redneckhippiejrm420 I agree fantastic picker and composer he also tuned the guitar to his own tunings which he inovated

  • They don't jam like this on TV anymore. These were two guys who loved playing guitar.

  • in the background i mark at violin

  • Chet was a thoroughbred guitarist;no vocals just the best guitar work you will ever

    hear.

  • @Frank5133 I second that jerry aint to bad either( son).

  • Backing musicians are from left: longtime Chet sideman Paul Yandell on guitar, Jerry Douglas on dobro, Mark O'Connor on fiddle, Harry Stinson on drums, and Glen Worf on bass. Not sure who the guitar player on the right is.

  • @knopflerado I'm pretty sure the guitar player on the right is Pat Bergeson

  • @BusterDukain no thats chet atkins

  • @bigfishst1r Ok, I should have said standing to the right, behind Chet. You might have noticed I was replying to @knopflerado who had named everyone on stage exept the guitarist standing to the right behind Chet. You know, everybody loves a Captian Obvious there bigfish. Unless he doesn't have all the facts straight, then he's just a dumbass.

  • music man rd-50 heaven

  • Oh man THANKS for posting this. OUTSTANDING!!!

  • Two of the greatest guitarists to grace this country.

  • Anybody know the names of the backing musicians? Seems to be some familiar faces, but it would be nice to have them verified. Thanks!

  • where is the COW BELL must have more COW BELL AAAHHHHHH!!!

  • parece johnny cash

  • Two of the best pickers of all time.I love you guys,RIP Jerry and Chet.

  • Is that Shannon Ford on the skins?

  • How to make something look unfairly simple -:o)

  • I'm pretty sure this was after Chet's brain surgery to have a tumor removed, he's definitely not at his best but he sure wowed me with that solo improv , may have been nearing the end but he was a genius till the day he died!

  • davebijoux would not be worthy to carry Chet's guitar strap.

And this was in 1992 4 1/2 years before his surgery.

He was still the best. And don't forget that!

  • Poor old Chet. Couldn't remember a damn thing, it seems to me.

  • Клёво,блин!!!

  • Great , I love it.

  • Two of the best doing their thing. Marvelous.

  • @bvwatcher two of the best doing the best

  • Phil thanks so much for your posts and musicality. :)

  • BIG smile!

  • Man...love it Phil...If any song epitomizes Jerry's picking and singing, this one cannot be far from #1. Thanks for sharing.

  • This just flat out cooks! Jerry at his finest!

  • Ive been waiting on this :D thanks

  • It's obvious that in this performace Chet had forgotten the fills and solo he did in the recording of this song. But I really like how his improvised solo turned out!

  • Hotamighty!

  • Love that record. Thanks for posting.

  • Great, great !!!! Thanks for posting.
