Slight mistake ... the c/f expansion he wrote is the one for 1/GoldenRatio. For GoldenRatio he has to add another 1:
(Sqrt[5]+1)/2 = 1+1/(1+1/(1+1/(1+1/(...))))
not just
1/(1+1/(1+1/(1+1/(...))))
Omitting the 1 actually makes this c/f the reciprocal of GoldenRatio.
