ohhhh yeah. ernie's still definitely got it. it boggles how a man can hit so many high notes in one lifetime, and still be able to keep on knocking them out.
I saw them in Bloomington Mn that same year and The same thing happened. George Told Glenn to stick to the lead and let him handle the bass. It was awesome...Oh and Glenn did a great job on all 4 parts.....
I knew Ernie and Mark sung together, these 2 make a great harmony together...
and, looks like Mark always sung at the Cathedrals with the tenors in their teens or about twenty, well, young ones(Kirk, Dan & Ernie)...except Kurt, but looks like this one doesn´t count, because his time at the Cathedrals was too short...
today, Mark looks like a 50´s year old man, also because of his white hair...
Maybe Danny look a little bit older, but Kirk looks so young...when I saw him in Reunion, I thought he was about 30 years old...today, he looks like about 40, Mark in reunion looks like 40...
But...Do you know exaclty the year each of them was born???
This was a good line up of the Cathedrals. Then they were good when Scott Fowler joined in. God had his hand on the group because they were always good, and no one knows how many lives this group touched.
The Cathedrals what a group they were. All the way to the end. Thanks to Ernie he is someone I'm sure George was proud of. Ernie is so young here. Does anyone know? Was this the first group he sung with? Thanks for posting.
According to a EH&SSQ fan site, Ernie was born 12/12/64. I know he sang for a few years with Squire Parsons & Redeemed before joining the Cathedrals in 1990. This video was recorded in 1990 or early 1991.
UPDATE: In a comment on one of the other videos from this performance, someone said that Ernie told them that he had only been with the Cats about one week when this was recorded.
Such harmony!!

I think some of ernies best vocal stuff was with the cathedrals but charisma wise he is by far better with signature sound

@GospelPhil Hey Phil, I saw the same thing up in Bloomington, Mn. If I recall, George said he couldn't do it. Great memories....

Wish they didn't retire. They could have found a new lead and bass. But I do agree that it wouldn't be the same without George and Glen.

Easy. Go to their bios. Kirk said he was born in '58, so did Mark. Danny was the oldest of those three. He was born in 1954.
