  • It is a superb film, a critique of Media Exploitation and Cultural Imperialism. The rape scenes are more disturbing to me than the animal killings, but I don't think I would call it scary. Disturbing and provocative, yes. If you want to see a SCARY Cannibal film, try DEATH LINE (Gary Sherman, 1972) or FRIGHTMARE (Pete Walker, 1974)- and they're both British, I'm proud to say! No animal killings or rape scenes either.....

  • this movie tromatized me when i was 8 man i was a fucked up kid lol

  • Amazing movie, its so expense to find it on dvd its like 100 dollars, they only made 11,000

  • Watch Into the jungle. A little slow in the beginning but a really great cannibal movie. Not sure if its real but great!

  • try cannibal ferox, good cannibal film

  • They really don't make horror like this classic anymore :-( Oh btw, you need tae review the classic psychological horror/thriller Manhunter (1986), with the stunning performance by Brian Cox as Dr. Hannibal Lecktor. Much better than Anthony Hopkins + the best film of the series :-)

  • one of my favs too bad i cant get anyone to watch it with me lol

  • nothing against it but why the accent?

  • @zZombified The real question is why I bother with any of this at all.

  • @TheJillkill because its awesome

  • @zZombified Thanks dude. :)

  • I love horror movies but I just don't find cannibals interesting unless they are undead

  • @jillkill The wrong turn films have alot of cannibalism and a prequel is coming in October.

  • love this movie , deodato the most underrated director in my opinion love all his movies and his unique style of film making, curse my country for keeping this film banned for so long i hate the bbfc :(

  • Ugh..what is with all you people? Most brutal? lol. This movie was so lame, i freakin hated it! So sick of people and their "me too" mentality. It was not gory...animal mutilation is not gore

  • Hey jill kill... just watched your video about cannibalism movies.? well hopefull your still writting a movie... but here are some i watched, there's>> Manhunter, Slaugherhouse 1987 movie, The mad butcher 1972, Feast 1992, The Hill;s have eyes 1977, and part 2 1984, Canniballistic i believe,? 2003 or 2004.? awww.? How tasty was my little frenchmen..? lol... and Ravenous...

  • Love it when he (Ruggero Deodato) pops up in Hostel...... its just like its the kinda place he hangs out when hes not making movies

  • One of the most brutal I've seen. Fantastic Horror film.

  • I love your stuff jill kill! U super cute too btw

  • the turtle scene wrecks this one for me. too cruel...

  • Nice review. If no one mentioned it, a very good and effective cannibal film that comes to mind is "Deathline" aka Raw Meat, UK horror from 1973. It was released on DVD by MGM several years ago, may be out of print now. But that's one to check out, great work by Donald Pleasance as a detective on the case.

  • you look cool XD

  • Yeah...this movie IS disgusting. So disgusting, no decent person should support it or condone watching it more than once...actually, AT ALL. I don't care what someone "proved", I know a goddamn snuff film when I see one...even though I've never seen one--point being that the violence against the people is jsut too real. Not to mention the fact that someone can actually ignore what they did to those poor animals for the sake of entertianment...BAD entertainment.

  • you got some nice farts... that guy has talent

  • Glad everyone else is suggesting Cannnibal Ferox. The most fucked up movie ever made? Salo: 120 Days of Sodom, or A Serbian Film. Do you think if a cannibal turned into a zombie, it would attack other zombies? ;-)

  • @liquidpig I just got a copy of A Serbian Film! I'm reviewing it soon! :)

I think if a cannibal turned into a zombie, it would probably eat itself!! Ewww...

  • @TheJillkill Nice, looking forward to it. You also might consider checking out BEGOTTEN, directed by Elias Merhige (probably most known for doing a couple Marilyn Manson videos). Pretty avant-garde disturbing stuff. Synopsis: God disembowels himself with a straight razor. The spirit-like Mother Earth emerges, venturing into a bleak, barren landscape. Twitching and cowering, the Son Of Earth is set upon by faceless cannibals.

  • Welcome To The Jungle is pretty damn good !!

  • cannibal holocaust is by far the best cannibal movie but cannibal ferox is about the closest too it , it has that same kind of realistic feel

  • have you ever seen Cannibal Ferox

  • Awesome Review Jill!!! Cannibal Holocaust was fantastic, the gory scenes were great, but i didnt like the turtle scene, i have 2 fast forward that part..all in all i agree w u its one of the greatest cannibal films..have u seen cannibal ferox, thats another great film..hope ur having an awesome weekend!

  • Gr8 review i really enjoy this film and it is the best of the cannibal films out there for sure. If yoy want to see another cannibal film like this then you should watch Cannibal Ferox, it's not as good but you should see it as its also very extreme in terms of violence and animal cruelty goes. Also watch Mountain of the Cannibal God, its ok i liked it better than ferox although it nowhere near as extreme, the end with the pig is sick though so watch it for that haha. Really gr8 stuff jillkill.

  • The Offspring is a cannibal film centered around a family of feral people. You might be interested in that. It also has a sequel titled The Woman that is currently on the festival circuit. I hear its akin to I Spit on Your Grave and features scads of domestic violence.

  • good rewiew,film horror awesome

  • Brilliant review Jill. I do have a film you should check out. It's called Cannibal and it was made in 2006 by Marian Dora. It's the true German story of a fellow who went on Craig'sList and asked if he could get a volunteer to eat. It's a vile movie...check it out

  • @MrRamone420 Oh WOW, I didn't know someone made a movie about that case. I have to see it!

  • I warned you about this film! lol. I could only sit through that awful turtle scene once because it truly made me feel sick. Thankfully my DVD has the option of watching an animal cruelty free version, which is the only version i'll probably ever watch again. lol

  • @TheAltair4

Yes it shocked me when i first saw this movie in 2001 but didn't know the animals were killed for real until i bought the 2-disc grindhouse DVD and your right there is an animal cruelty free version. What about the Muskrat or the monkey getting it's brain sliced? and that turtle scene was horrifying, what about the alligator in Jungle Holocaust? or an iguana getting gutted especially a monkey being fed to a large snake in Mountain of the Cannibal God?

  • @Johnlindsey289 All of those other scenes you mentioned upset me too but the turtle scene in CH is the only one that very nearly made me lose my lunch. lol

  • I absolutely love your channel, you are gorgeous!! And you like Cannibal Holocaust...awesome!<3

  • Pure exploitation. This "documentary" is a disgrace to real movies that respect the limits of morality...

  • @AndiJ1989 The movie is definitely exploitive on so many levels, and believe me, I'm glad that there are moral limits in place to prevent this kind of film from becoming the norm. But at the same time, I appreciate Cannibal Holocaust as a product of a bygone era.

I think that its brilliance lies in the way it simultaneously uses exploitive filmmaking techniques and colonial mentality while also acting as a commentary upon it.

  • Not much can really top Cannibal Holocaust, not just with the cannibal genre, but many other great horror films as well. In fact, I just watched A Serbian Film for the first time yesterday, and for as graphic as that film is, and it IS truly graphic, I still don't think it's as shocking as CH. Now, I don't know if you've seen A Serbian Film yet, but it's arguably the most sexually violent film ever made, so not sure you'd like it. But for my money, CH is more disturbing, just sayin

  • @thebrb30000 Haha, I've only seen one Serbian film, and it was pretty messed up.

  • @TheJillkill no, that's the actual name of the film: "A Serbian Film." Just google "A Serbian Film," and that's the one I'm talking about. Or on second thought, if you don't want to be scarred for life, don't look it up, lol.

BTW, if you want to talk to an expert on the cannibal genre, talk to lampyman101, aka Glenn. He's an expert on the subject, and a great guy too.

  • Great review...Wow i have to see that movie, sounds AWSOME. Nice work jill.

  • @MADDTROY Thank, Maddtroy! Backatcha! :)

  • Cool.

  • I watched The Human Centipede the other day and surprisingly wasn't very affected by it. After seeing Cannibal Holocaust movies like that just seem like child's play. Human Centipede really wasn't any worse than any of the Saw movies. I'm still waiting to see the one that tops Cannibal Holocaust.

  • @sauronthegr8 Human Centipede works more on your own imagination, while Cannibal Holocaust shows you all the gore and more. I spent half of HC thinking about how completely awful it would be to have to be part of the centipede and how I wouldn't want to live like that... so I still thought the idea was much more terrifying than any of the Saw films.

  • @TheJillkill Oh, it's a terrifying idea. But the violence isn't really any worse than the Saw films (which I'm not really a fan of, either) and the acting and writing was pretty terrible. I guess I'm just not that squeamish anymore.

The thing with Cannibal Holocaust is that it almost takes a gleeful tone. The characters are enjoying what they're doing until it backfires on them. And the music really adds an ironic and horrifying tone.

  • @sauronthegr8 A lot of the writing in Human Centipede was pretty bad, but I enjoyed it for all its flaws.

I do love the tone of Cannibal Holocaust, and the music is absolutely superb, irony and all.

  • Here's a few this one is new this year Real Cannibal Holocaust, Mountain of the Cannibal God Blue (Underground edition), Slave of the Cannibal God, This doesn't have to do with cannibals but If you want to see a movie that is beyond craziness MARK OF THE DEVIL (!970) The First Movie Rated 'V' For Violence U.S. theaters (accompanied by complimentary barf-bags for squeamish patrons with urpy tendencies),

  • @DMGraffixx These all sound amazing, especially Mark of the Devil!

  • YOU FORGOT THIS ONE xpac93.deviantart com/#/d3fb2cq

  • @CaptainAwful You have to tell me which pieces you want featured in videos and which ones you don't! I didn't know that one was part of your approved gallery.

  • @TheJillkill WELL IT IS NOW

  • @CaptainAwful Keep up the fine art, and I'll make an entire tribute video to your genius.

  • I was wondering what all the cannibal stuff was about. This is your best video yet, mostly because of the detail and anguish that you can see in the artwork at the end.

  • @ProfoundlyForlorn The anguish and the pokeball.

  • holocaust delivers the goods but i cant handle the animal abuse in it.check out cannibals vs predator or cannibal ferox

  • @poptopia1 Holocaust is sooo harsh, isn't it? I had a friend who used to fall asleep watching Cannibal Holocaust every night-- it drove his roommate absolutely bonkers! :)

  • Ever seen "Jungle Holocaust" (1977). It's not too bad. It's not as good as "Cannibal Holocaust" in my opinion.

The soundtrack in Cannibal Holocaust is AWESOME! "Cannibal Ferox" is overrated as hell. You can check that out if you haven't seen it, but most of the good parts in the movie are in the films trailer.

"Cannibal Holocaust" is probably the best cannibal film I've seen.

Italian horror films in the 70's and 80's were very gritty and raw. It makes them AWESOME!

  • @GialloHorror I know, I love 70s giallo Italian horror, too.

I've never seen Jungle Holocaust... adding to the list. :)

  • Awesome review mate :) I havent seen this one. Yes yes i know! hang my head in shame :)

  • @SpannersGerm669 Just as long as you know you're missing out!!! :)

  • The thing about this film is not a bad its just not my kinda movie, just didn't agree with the characters watching horrible things being done to there friends and not trying to help anybody out. I really can't really think of any raw cannibal movies, but if you haven't scene Wes Craven's People Under the Stairs which has a cannibal element but not as raw its a little more on the cheese side, still a great movie.

  • @mikeface1 Haha, I feel like the total immorality of the documentarian characters is what makes the film so terrifying.

I forgot about People Under the Stairs-- I haven't seen that movie in forever! Trivia: My aunt and uncle used to make fun of my dad and call him "People Under the Stairs"-- up until like a year ago! ;)

  • Cannibal Ferox would be the next one to watch, in my opinion. Similar stuff but it has a terrible scalping you will want to see.

  • @ExplosiveAction Scalpings are BRUTAL... I'll look for it!

  • Rape was a pretty prominant feature in those "grindhouse" days. Ive often considered Cannibal Holocaust more of an exploitation film than horror, but either way an excellent film. I like to believe the animals killed were going to be killed ANYWAY bynlocals for food, and the director simply asked if they could do it. I LIKE to believe that. Ill PM you a list of cannibal movie recomendations, Jill. Great vid as always!

  • @mrcinemajunky Thanks for the super in-depth list and for the wonderful lie about the slaughtered animals... maybe they were all rushed to the vet after filming, and all got better and went to live on a farm. ;)

In truth, I feel like this review was kind of messy because I'm suffering from a vicious cold and my computer fan kept on overheating and blocking out my sound on some of the more in-depth stuff I said late on... plus a cannibal ate my homework. :)

  • @TheJillkill Well I never said it was FACT just I'd like to THINK it was like that. They were in a jungle and Im sure they or the people around them had to eat something....so if they were going to kill em anyway, commit it to film for overall effect.

  • @mrcinemajunky Haha, you're definitely right about that, none of those slaughtered animals went to waste! I'm sure they all became yummy craft services for the day. :)

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. Animals are slaughtered for food all the time, I don't see why it can't be filmed. For some reason, violence looks amazing on camera-- and when it's real the audience can generally tell and it has a very chilling effect.

  • @TheJillkill Yes..there you go...Went out turtle and came back Pate!
